ES6 ...again
Cobbled together from a few other recent forum postings:

ES6
Reposting this from a Starfield thread (since it might likely be closed: Regarding all the unspoken AND written fears and concerns about HOW, EXACTLY is ES6 'coming along':

Use the creation engine, and quietly MAKE ES6- like Fallout London- if THEY Can do it (i.e. make Fallout London) so can YOU do it (make ES6)..or something akin to Forgotten Stories Enderal). We now know its possible..X2...so again..what's holdin you back? Fear???? of what...Enderal was published, and so was Fallout London.

For love of the story, for love of the experience (exploration, discovery, self -reflection, agrandizement, recognizing and (amplifying or resolving character flaws and weaknesses)- you can DO EEEET!!!!!

I've said it before- I gave the basic synopsis- the ACTUAL return of the Dwemer, the end (death?) of all gods, as observed/perceived from the perspective of a ...dog....a ...talking dog...after it ..visits a certain sanitarium..just after witnessing a screaming/flaming purple hazed ...statue (that's NOT truly a statue) come crashing/smashing into the ground at the base of the White Gold tower.

NO ONE WANTS ES6 JUST to be about yet ANOTHER lesser know/unexplored land mass in Tamriel such as Hammerfell- ES (and excuse me for being particular, but NOT ESO- I truly HATE ESO compared to ES, for any one of a NUMBER of reasons) was always only EVER about the story, and hearing the story (or experiencing it)- THIS time from the perspective ..of a dog...well..that WOULD be different.

I WANT to hear the dog's tail......NOT bloody well explore Hammerfell....6 YEARS FROM NOW..or worse...- and if this is in the wrong forums..i'll repost in Skyrim....Thanks for 'reading'/listening

PART 2
But the DWEMER ...WON'T be the same- they were attempting a divine ascension- who's to say that they failed...and perhaps they are either- clearing 'house' of pests (i.e. the gods), or seeking vengeance for being held back/denied...AND....you GET to play as a DWEMER- as a race and a class..and discover once and for all what it MEANT, what it MEANS and what it WILL/MIGHT MEAN to be a DWEMER...This story arc has NOT been pursued at all that much length...YET..

PART 3
Doesn't change the silent consensus- more players WANT to SEE, want to KNOW, and EXPERIENCE what happened- even if this dispels ....SOME of the mystery. I'll take dispelling SOME of the mystery ANY DAY over...bloody walking the length and breadth of Hammerfell.

Have you not noticed that Bethesda hasn't revealed ANYTHING whatsoever regarding the actual PLOT or storyline of ES6? All we have so far....is a high elevation 'rotascopic' view of what MIGHT be Hammerfell.

Did you not ever WONDER what happened to Yagrum after the conclusion of the main events of Morrowind? Divayth was attempting all sorts of cures on Bagrum to stop or end the Corprus blight disease. Supposedly, with the 'DEATH' of Dagoth Ur...the actual spread of the disease ended....but what happened to Yagrum? There is only one scroll detailing his apparent ...'withdrawal' from general events at the conclusion of Morrowind- but what does that even mean?
Yagrum appeared to have a very extensive ..awareness of past, present and future events that had occurred- might he have been aware of the return of dragons in Skyrim? Might he have elected to ...bide his time, wait out the end of the the blight/Dagoth Ur, in safety and relative obscurity? WHY EXACTLY, SPECIFICALLY did Yagrum need a pair of functional Dwarven boots of Flying?????

Remember- when first infected by Corprus Blight- certain player stats would begin to increase (and others correspondingly DECREASE)- often WELL ABOVE normal 'mortal' limitations.
What if Corprus Blight affected DIFFERENT stats in Yagrum, such as intellect. Yagrum was a Dwemer as well, with a certain knack and penchant for 'modifying sources of power such as the heart of Lorkhan to suit his ...needs? Why NOT patiently 'figure' out how to use the Corprus, as Dagoth Ur did?? What if the SOLE reason that Yagrum....continued to exist - was to serve as an...anchor point in time and space for...others....and that by NOT having access to the Heart of Lorkhan OR Kagrenac's tools - Yagrum would have to find or determine ...a DIFFERENT means of accomplishing things, or making a choice?

What if Yagrum was just waiting on word from....a talking dog....a being of such lowly status...that NO ONE paid any attention to....but who knows .....EVERYTHING....because that DOG....isn't actually a dog at all...but something else entirely.

Please let me know what you think....

Past that Bethesda which is Microsoft owned IP are not capable of great games. ES6 will be trash and it if isn't i will be surprised. The franchise should be put to bed already imo.

Yagrrum...and the dog, and it would FINALLY tie Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim TOGETHER....

We know it's in Hammerfell, that isn't new. Everything else is hearsay. If we see a return of stats to the elder scrolls, there would be more options, then in skyrim, to improve your character. Since stat base games have became more popular. Maybe it's taking them more time to change the system. This is a very optimistic view, though I do hope they are seriously considering stats.

If it's on the creation engine
And they're still not updating it after the fiasco with starfield. It might not even be worth buying.

it could also be a land mass in between hammerfell, orsinium and high rock... or in between any two of these regions... altho, sure, beth isn't trying too hard ever since skyrim, so it could be just skyrim again with sand instead of snow and dark skinned nords who are not too fond of magic (do you know how much it costs to implement such things omg stfu nerds!).

We actually don't know it's in hammerfell though. That's never been confirmed, only theorized based on the trailer, and that trailer could really be anywhere.

I actually think es 6 is gonna be the iliac bay. Half hammerfell, half high rock, and possibly orsinium.

They put the game on the back burner because they wanted technology to catch up. What technology have they been fiddling with since?

Procedural generation, ship building and ship combat. They also said they want tes 6 to be played for the next decade.

I think they're going way bigger in scale, using Procedural generation to accomplish it and going back to tes 2 setting. Incorporating ship building and ship travel as well.

Starfield was messing around with prototype ideas for tes 6 imo.

It could also fit Elsweyr and i am not just saying this due to affinity to Khajiit. We have to consider all regions that have Desert in them as that seems to be the theme people are stuck on.

Who knows really it could be anything. Maybe they could pull out the whole continent itself as they want to start fleshing out the whole world as in the other land masses like Atmora and what ever else is out there. We know there is other landmass because of Atmora but there could be other masses too.
Nebgama Dec 19, 2024 @ 7:33am
they could be making the whole continent Tamrieal like how they made wow and then every other zone or land mass or what ever comes in down the line can be subsequent expansions.

This could be TES's entry into a more robust game one that is better than ESO and more like wow. Microsoft has WoW now so they have the blueprint to good world design. I don't really mean like wow gameplay but more its world design is solid, immersive and expansive.

Still ESO sucks, Skyrim is pretty sucky they could make more of the same as that is how logic works or they could redeem here with VI,

but then again look at stairfield it was so bad that i knew before it came out it was going to be trash, i am not really into space games anyway so i knew it was not for me. Dodged a bullet there.

it can't be anything because it must be something super safe.

They are not using Procedural generation like you think as that would be a hard justification in a themed game. They are using it to create the map but each new game won't proceduraly produce new terrain its not viable to do that in a game that needs locations to be linear.

Todd has already said they will be using Proc gen to do the map but everyone receives the same map. This will just be because its now easier and faster to generate huge maps this way rather than build it by hand. This alone could also allude to a very big landmass they have planned like Tamriel sort of big.

Which would be insanely fast to proc gen once you have a solid algorithm. Where as building a massive land mass by hand can take years.

Ships also allude to long distance travel so making the whole continent could be a real potential.

Yeah when I said procedural generation that's what I meant. No man's sky for example was procedurally generated but everyone gets the same map. I believe they're gonna do the same and make the map much bigger with more space between notable locations.

Oblivion was actually procedurally generated which is why it's so generic. But there's been lots of work on that front for the last two decades and they've honed the generation better and made it less generic (i mean in gaming in general, not Bethesda specifically).

Yeah sorry that came out wrong, i was more so agreeing with you. I want to like the thought of a new game in the series but i don't have much faith. Many games today are shells of what they can be and with something like ES it needs to be good.
psychotron666 Dec 19, 2024 @ 8:27am
If tes 6 isn't ground breaking, it's basically the end of Bethesda. They might still exist but they'll just be like ubisoft or these other gaming companies that just churn out the same ♥♥♥♥ every year until they die a slow painful death.

I don't have much faith in it being ground breaking, but I do also realize that Todd and co recognize that the game needs to be legendary status or otherwise it's an outright failure. There's a tiny hope that they might be able to pull it off, taking all the valid criticism from starfield

Yeah, if 6 fails i agree they should just put it to bed, games are made at a loss these days and for the most part not profitable, the only way forward profit wise is gamepass or subscription services.

EDIT: Sorry Triple A games are not profitable, i make this distinction because Triple A games have to much overhead and the scope of them have exceeded the return. Indie games made by more grassroots beginnings are highly profitable.

if it comes out as a sub game i am already not interested in it for that reason. They way it is going it probably will be on gamepass or sub model. As sub model is a trillion dollar industry.

I am on the creation side of the sub model so i already hate subs because the tools i works with cost 1000s of dollars in annual subs. If anyone is already sick of subs its ppl like me.

Morrowind is the main game i play in the series anyway. So at the end of the day i don't care that much.
