No 1920 x 1080 Option
The highest resolution in the options for me is 1280 x 960. I did use Over Haul 3.0 thinking that would help but it didn't.

If you changed the resolution via a exernal tool the ingame settings have no use, ignore what they say.

use the external tool "morrowind graphic extender", one of its basic and easy to use function is to choose higher resolutions.

Try your luck with steam support. They could refund your moneys to your steam wallet if you haven't started up the games yet. Maybe...

You have to change it while installing AND NOT CHANGE IT LATER ON THE LAUNCHER!
Also, remember to run MorrowindLauncher.exe and Morrowind.exe as admin.

I'm confused Morrowind was installed first, and I noticed there was no option to put it into 1920 x 1080, so the next thing I did was I installed over haul 3.0. I installed everything correctly according to Over Haul 3.0.

Dur there's no option for 1080p cause this game was released before 1080p was Invinted it's over 10 years old! You're gonna have to use a mod like morrowind graphics extender to get something like that.

If you installed overhaul, you should have 1920x1080 option but not within game. Go to your Morrowind directory (right click the game in Steam library, go to local files tab, choose view files option). Run the file "MGEXE.exe". Change resolution and FOV as you please (best FOV value for 16:9 screens is 106).

Contact steam support because your 11 year old game doesn't support modern graphics options.

That was a reply to another comment about buying a load of games just before the autumn sale hit.

They never do refunds.

Actually they do, but the cases have been pretty extreme. For example, I believe there was some refunding involved in the launch of a game called "Swords of the Stars II" which was utterly broken at the time.

Just install http://www.lowgenius.net/post/2008/05/23/Morrowind-FPS-Optimizer.aspx#.Upf3kOL3O6c or http://sourceforge.net/projects/morrgraphext/. I used the former and it worked for me.(except now bandicam wont detect morrowind.)

Over Haul 3.0 does have the Morrowind graphic extender, but I just can't get it to work. I've even uninstalled Morrowind, and just installed the Morrowind, and graphics extender, and still didn't do anything, no matter what settings I had in the graphics extender Morrowind would just stay in 1280 x 960. When I play Morrowind I get the black bars on the left and right side of the screen, so I figure it doesn't want to work on my computer.

Reinstall Morrowind without Overhaul, friend. In my opinion, original Morrowind looks much better and prettier, original atmosphere is the key.

For resolution:
1. Run Registry Editor (Win+R, type in "regedit")
2. Search for "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind"
3. Change ScreenWidth and ScreenHeight params to the ones you need
4. Profit!

This won't change FOV however. So you'll see everything streched. You must use either MGE XE or FPS Optimizer to get proper HD resolution. If MGE XE doesn't work for you (did you disable Steam overlay by the way? MGE XE is incompatible with it), try FPS optimizer. It should work.
