Running speed
I just bought the game and it's much better than skyrim but one thing kind of irritates me, The walking/running speed. It is extremely slow (atleast in the beginning) i got the boots that make you walk faster but blind you 100%. Are there items in the game that make you run faster without blinding you? Or tips on how to improve my speed.

Thank you
Daan

Install a mod, use console commands to increase your Speed attribute, or without cheating in any way you can simply drink a potion of magic resistance and then wear the Boots of Blinding Speed and they will not blind you, only darken your vision. There are also items that can passively increase magic resistance, or increase it on use. You could enchanty an item that increases magic resistance by 100% for 1 second and then equip the boots during that time and you will get the full benifit with none of the blind.

Thats normal for the beginning, increase athletics skill and speed attribute but strengh attribute helps also because it increases your carrying capacity... and the more unused capacity the faster you are (and if are exceed it you can't move lol).

The common used strategie is to jump forward instead of walking because acrobatics is very easy to train (just jump all the time). A bit trained in the skill and you can jump quiet far (the further the less you carry, so its works better if you choose light amor type).

I installed a dremora race mod and the extra's i get with being a dremora is heavy armor. I'll just keep jumping my way forward. Im almost satisfied with the walking speed.

Thanks for the advice.

If you like moving forward by jumping, i can recommend the "Jump" spell (School of Alteration).
It's quite fun.

Equip the Boots of Blinding Speed while wearing the Ring of Phynaster which is found in Senim Ancestral Tomb. It is easy to get and will counteract some of the blindness so you can at least see while using the boots, although the screen will be a little dark.

You can also use Mara's Blouse, Ebony Mail, or Cuirass of the Savior's Hide to counteract the blindness from the boots. The more"Resist Magicka" you have the less blind you will be.

Don't use the boots in combat they will make you miss more. They are only for travelling and exploring or running away from tough enemies.

Make a new character with speed as a major or minor and/or add the steed birth sign.

I always take either the birthsign of the Steed or Speed as a favored stat. Also, if you have Boots of Blinding Speed, one early-game workaround is to set your normal boots to one hotkey and the BoBS to another hotkey. Mine are 3 and 4, respectively. I just tap 4 to equip the BoBS, sprint for a few moments, then tap 3 to switch to my normal boots and regain sight. Makes it real easy to travel long distances so long as it's a relatively safe route.

This is just one example of the incredible depth and complexity of Morrowind.
