Dead is dead. No one comes back (without console commands).

Next time you talk to a guard he is gonna take all your stolen goods and then fine you 1000 gold.

Killing shopkeepers is unethical! You’re supposed to steal from them! ;)

- Walk into a store
- Take (expensive) merchandise (best to wait until guards and shopkeep has back turned, or better... steal from a room without guards or shopkeep!)
- Run out of store VERY quicky!
- Drop EVERYTHING of value on ground (if you got caught stealing)
- Let guard arrest you (again... if you got spotted stealing)
- Once out of jail, go get your stolen loot
- Sell the stolen goods to another store

It's a cheap game exploit, but it works.

"kill shopkeeper"... "steal from merchant"... And then they say "Dunmer are racist, they hate outlanders!". Get a job, you n'wah.

No, seriously, join Fighters Guild and do stuff. Why bother about moneymaking, if few levels after you will anyway have more money than you need.

Bad choice. What you steal from a shopkeeper will result that every piece you steal will be flagged as stolen. For example; if you steal a diamond from a shopkeeper or from an enchanter (like galbedir) then all diamonds will be flagged when you try to sell them.
Not to mention that if anybody see you're killing an innocent person you will be marked for murder. You can even get a death warrant, which results that every guard chases you all over vvardenfell, no matter if it's a legion, ordinator, buoyant armigger or great house guard.
It ain't that hard to obtain money. Alchemy is one trick of them.

Well a lot of "stuff" in Morrowind involves killing for profit. Maybe killing isn't your thing? Get a "real job" and join the Thieves Guild. HAHA!

I've sold LOTS of stollen goods without question. You just have to be careful who you sell your stollen goods to!

Morrowind's sneaking may be broken, but atleast you can sell what you stole to another merchant.. unlike Oblivion and Skyrim. Fences suck.

Well the sneaking isn't broken, it's just very simple.

I remember a thieves guild exploit in which you could get all your bounties paid off for free. You just had to drop all of your money except one gold before having a guild member take care of a price on your head. Even if your bounty was 5,000,000, it would be taken care of for the one gold in your inventory.

I only remember doing that on the Xbox. Not sure if it worked on the PC, but it's been looooong fixed on both.

Killing is perfectly fine if you have appropriate writs for execution. Or in selfdefence. Or simply if no one will see you.
But killing because you're ex-convict immigrant with no money in pockets... Geez, that's just pathetic. Next step should be finding yourself a nice cave and waiting for a proper Nerevarine to kill you.
