The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Imperials or Dunmer?
So I play as a Nord when playing elder scrolls and in Skyrim I am a firm supporter of the Stormcloak rebellion. I just got Oblivion and Morrowind and was wondering what to do? So from what I've gathered, the imperials invaded Morrowing and took the Dunmer's land. I'm pretty much opposed to stealing people's lands, and wanted to know if joining the blades would be bad if looking to help the dunmer, also, how to avoid that and continue doing the main questline. So yeah, if anyone could give me information having to do with the political conlficts in Morrowind, I'd much appreciate that.

Joining the Blades is essential, and you cannot help the Dunmer drive out the Imperials. If you want to help the Dunmer, you'll have to download a Join the Sixth House mod which will allow you to join Dagoth Ur and drive the n'wah out of Morrowind.
Hm. Alright I guess. I won't have to kill any Dunmer, will I (They're nice fellows)?

YOU N'WAH!
Imperials conquer and steal. Maybe the rebels wouldn't be so racist if other people groups didn't come in and steal their lands.

My next playthrough is going to be an RP playthrough where i play as an Argonian slave who rebelled against his Dunmer masters and became the hero who eventually led the Argonians in the conquering of Morrowind.

(He'll be a warrior character to reflect the whole "Argonian hero" thing.)

Dunmer only...always.
Well the Dunmer have prospered under Imperial control.
But does that give the imperials the right to steal their lands? No. The dunmer want them out, and that's where they should go.

It doesn't matter. Muad-Dib is gonna come soon and overthrow the empire, rule Arrakis and... wait. I always get Dune and Morrowind confused.

No matter what race you pick in morrowind, you're still an outlander. Even if you choose dunmer, they know you're foreign, and some will look down on a dunmer outlander even more than an imperial.

The locals are hardly powerless in Morrowind. They had to sign a treaty making them "officially" a part of the empire, but they're still largely autonomous, and the primary authorities are still the great houses and the Tribunal. The Empire maintains forts and missions in morrowind, but their authority is far from absolute, to the point that Morrowind citizens aren't subject to the same laws as the rest of the empire. Most notably: Morrowind is the only place in the empire where slavery is legal. The dunmer are hardly innocent.

The relationships between the various factions and authorities in morrowind isn't as straightforward as the politics of skyrim, and how good or bad say, the imperial presence is, depends a lot on who you ask.

Help the Dunmer by joining the Imperial legion! The empire is working to abolish the enslavement of the Argonians and the Khajiit.

They did not. Third Empire only brought to Morrowind bureaucracy and corruption.

Don't bother. Morrowind became imperial province 400 years ago. And if it's not enough for you - "Blades" part of storyline is a simple investigation, after that you're fullfilling Nerevarine Prophecy, which benefits all Morrowind.
