The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

FORCED VSYNC
Theres no option for vsync in the options so i forced it in my graphics card and theres still really bad screen tearing. This is the only game i own that forcing vsync in my amd card doesnt work.Anyone have any suggestions?Id be really thankful as of right now the game is unplayable.

With the lack of a vsync setting in-game and forcing vsync though AMD/NVIDIA being futile, you'll most likely have to use a third-party modification to edit these settings in Morrowind.

MGE (Morrowind Graphics Extender) is a popular one http://sourceforge.net/projects/morrgraphext/
This is just an option, there is plenty of other software/modifications out there for Morrowind to extend the graphics options, etc. I hope it helps. Although, I recommend MGE due to that fact that it allows you to do much more to the graphics than just vsync... custom resolutions, aspect ratios, vsync, draw distance/distant lands, antialiasing levels, fog, anisotropic filtering, field of view, intro skips, disable console, shaders, etc. just to give you an idea. I highly recommend MGE. It's pretty much a must have.

That's weird. I'm not forcing vsync with it due to the fact that I'm not getting any screen tearing. I admit that the option to skip opening cutscene isn't doing anything so I'm not sure if that works, but I believe that some of the other options are working for me. And the resolution change is great. I hope you come across something to fix your screen tearing.
You're lucky lol and im having no luck.Ive just spent 4 hours trying to fix it.I give up!Thanks for trying though my friend!

No problem. Maybe someday, y'know? I'm just used to getting old games to run to perfection. I never get to have screen tearing as a problem I have to deal with =/ I've probably had this game installed on about 10 different systems. I hope you get to enjoy it sometime.
haha yeah but it looks like im at the mercy of the community on here.I tried evertything i could of.I get screen tearing in a lot of games but im always able to get rid of it using radon pro.I have an amd card and forcing it on there never works. It sucks as this is an old favorite of mine.

Is it running that badly? Try setting the resolution to match your screen size via the registry (google search "morrowind registry resolution") and change the maximum fps in the "morrowind.ini" file to 60. There are a lot of other tweaks to check out.

I'm only mentioning such things because Morrowind runs solid without tearing on my mid-range laptop using some basic tweaks. Good luck!
Thanks for dropping a line my friend.Ive tried all resolutions and i set the fps to 60 to no avail.Im pretty bummed lol ive been trying all night to get it to work and its just unplayable in its current state. Its funny though as im always able to force vsync using radon pro...for some reason its not working with this.I messed with the seettings on MGE mod but nothing seems to help. Not sure if im putting the wrong settings on or what.Ive heard people saying that a lot of settings on there dont work.

You are right, MGE doesnt work, if you have a NVIDIA card use the NVIDIA control panel to apply V-Sync "Adaptive" to Morrowind.exe (can confirm it works), for AMD cards there is a V-Sync option in the Catalyst Control Center too.
