got a problem on main quest possible spoilers

i am at the quest where i go to tel fyr to get the cure for corpus disease, the npc tells me to go down to the corpsarium to get some boots from someone else. i go there, and supposedly get the boots. i say supposedly because when i go back up to the wizard guy, he just says did you get the boots no boots not potion, and only potion appears in blue text, and when i click on potion he just repeats his quest dialogue to go get them from the npc down belw. and i don't see any topic that is boots so i can't respond to it and give him the boots to continue the main quest.
anyone know of a way to fix this?

You talked to Yagrum Bagarn, right. You know, that fat Dwemer with spider-like centurion legs.

yes and he supposedly gave me the boots for when i talk to him he says i gave you the boots right. it is when i go to the wizard up top that there is no option in my dialogue options called boots, there is one for potion, but that just makes the wizard tell me to go talk to yagrum again and get the boots, he doesn't acknowlegde that i have gotten them. so that is where i am stuck.

Do you actually have the boots in your inventory?

to be honest i can't really tell i have dwemer boots and dwemer boots of flyingx2 amongst other boots and junk lol i think i do have them , maybe the items are just not activating the quest marker or tag i don't know. i also have a save back at casis house when i began this quest so i'll try again and this time sell off some junk before i do it. just to make sure.

ok i just tried it again i got the boots in inventory from the dwarven spider guy, it said i got the boots of flying from him and my journal updated that says if i turn them in to wizard fyr, he will give me a potion to cure my corprus disease, but when i go to talk to the wizard, tthere is no dialogue option to called dwemer boots or boots so it is hard to give him the boots if i don't have the dialogue option.

whacks his head, i finally got it to work, seems i had a pair of the dwemer boots of flying already in inventory, so i dropped that pair and got the one from yagram this time when i talked to the wizard and selected potion he cured me. can't believe it was so simple of a fix. man i feel stupid.

Ah, so he never gave you the flying boots because you already had flying boots. I've seen similar issues with other generic items being used as specific quest targets.
