* Planet Elder Scrolls shut down about two years ago.
* Nexus still has Morrowind mods. Try here.[www.nexusmods.com]
* You can also try Morrowind Mod History[mw.modhistory.com] (which hosts most of the mods in Planet Elder Scrolls) and Great House Fliggerty[www.fliggerty.com].
* You don't have to pay for mods. Skyrim is currently the only game in this "paid mod" travesty and other modding sites are still free. Morrowind doesn't even have a workshop, so Steam didn't (and probably won't, considering the game's age) toss anything about Morrowind.
Thanks again.
Since I find Necessities of Morrowind a bit overdone, I would urge you to try a much more lightweight mod called Basic Needs. It does the same thing but uses Morrowind's assets.
I didn't try the other mods so I can't help you there. What is MC by the way? :)
Morrowind Crafting! Is along NoM one of my favorites mods too (I must try Basic needs as well )
Morrowing Crafting has his own site: http://denina.fliggerty.com/forum/index.php They are adding also compatibility with Tamriel Rebuilt.
Quick tip, EgoMaster, you can do bulleted lists with the [ list ] [ /list ] formatting done like so.
You can also do numbered lists by replacing "list" and "/list" with "olist" and "/olist"
If you need some additional mod suggestions, we cover 13 new mods every week on Morrowind Modding Showcases, and I've included a few of the major mod recommendation lists below:

A lot of tiny sites just had to move on. The world changes.
Nope. Nope. Nope. No one if forcing you to use any mods. Thousands upon thousands of mods on Steam, less than twenty are pay-for.
What is there to resolve?
"What is there to resolve?" is a good summation of this issue. It's not the end of the world. A few Skyrim mods cost money. Not a big deal. Steam will probably never charge for Morrowind mods because there will almost certainly never be a Morrowind Workshop.
Right now I don't think the situation is perfect, but that's not surprising: this is a brand new thing for Steam. After a while I have faith that things will be ironed out, and I'm not opposed to paying a couple of dollars for a mod if I feel it's worth my money.
I remember the first DLC that went on sale on Xbox Live was the infamous horse armor for Oblivion (correct me if I'm wrong). It was a crappy start, but things got better.
As for those who somehow woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, I guess I should explain if it weren't for Skyrim I woulod never have tried Steam. Like it or not, I was forced (yes forced) to use Steam if I wanted to play Skyrim. The last time I stopped playing Skyrim and went back to MW, PES (Gamespy) was still up. So I never needed to nor bothered to look and see if Steam had MW mods. SO, I hope you can understand the confusion when the first time I look for them here, I find nothing but a firestorm about pay for mods, one of which stated something about mods are taken down, wait there they are, no they're not... blah blah blah. While I appreciate the history lesson on what Steam has and has not had in the past, it's not very helpful nor relevant.
As for the pay for mods debate, this one was resolved (for me) years ago during the whether DRM would be forced on users or not debate. This was one of the issues that we were told would NEVER happen, even voluntarily. Thing is, I and others were very familiar with progressive scams and how they operate, we weren't fooled then. I'm not fooled now. Eventually, you will have to pay for everything, including user submitted mods. Thing is, I also know better than to protest, we don't have a choice nor a say in it. As I said, it was decided they were going to do this years ago, so I don't know why people are bothering to blow smoke up our butts in defending it.
Now, for specific replies. Reformed Pirate, Egomaster, and Darkekfguy, thank you again for the helpful info. (And RP, thanks for the B-Day wishes.) Brandybuck, not sure if I'd call Planet Elder Scrolls a tiny site, but either way, like most people, I'm familiar with how the internet works. LOL And as for the situation, I was referring to that in my OP, where MW mods were unavailable, yet I knew the MW community wouldn't let them just go away. I did not realize there was already a site (Mod History) that already resolved the situation. As I said, I've been gone for years, and by sheer coincidence I returned on the very day they went into this phase.
It's kind of like returning home after years away, and while you expect things to have changed, you don't expect to open the front door and there's a full out wild western style bar room brawl taking place. :)
You're totally right about Morrowind Modding History. I didn't know anything about that site until just a few months ago. All I knew about was Nexus. Unfortunate, but not surprising considering a Google search for "Morrowind Mods" doesn't bring it up (at least not in the first four pages, but honestly who's going to search for Morrowind mods and go farther than four pages deep before finding something).
