Morrowind in 4k, pretty simple setup guide

Recently got a 4k TV and have my laptop hooked up to it (it has a GTX 870m, and it runs Morrowind perfectly in 4k.)

So here are pretty simple steps on how to get it to work in 4k. It's really simple.

1. Go grab a copy Morrowind FPS Optimizer.[www.nexusmods.com] There are other ways to do this, but this is by far the simplest one.

2. Start the Morrowind FPS Optimizer. Uncheck the checkbox "novice mode." Now click on "change Morowind registry settings here" and change Width to 3840 and height to 2160, then the refresh rate depending on your setup to either 30 or 60. With HDMI 2.0 or minidisplayport, 60 will run. However, it always switches me to 50hz, so I went with 59 and everything went fine.

3. Now you will have to increase the hud size, since everything is unreadable in 4k. So go to the "misc/2" tab and shove the "in-game interface size multiplier" slider up. I found a value of x1.6 to be perfect.

4. Next thing is increasing the font sizes, because they're unreadable small. First you'll need the Better Dialogue Font 1.1 mod[www.nexusmods.com]. Just unzip the download and copy the files in the fonts folder to /Morrowind/Data Files/Fonts (You will find this in your Steam folder, usually something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common) and overwrite existing files.

5. Then the second font size to increase goes with the Bigger Vamilla Font mod.[www.nexusmods.com] Do the same like in the 4th step, unzip, copy the files from the font folder to /morrowind/Data Files/fonts and overwrite existing fonts.

That's it, now it's perfectly fine playable in 4k. It runs on my laptop constantly over 100fps. Pretty neat for a midrange graphiccard.

Can't get it to run at a stable fps with the Morrowind Overhaul mod, not even in 1080p. Even Skyrim runs better. Fiddled around with the settings but didn't help.
