The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Tamriel Rebuilt (v.25) Crashes at start
I very recently installed the latest version of Tamriel Rebuilt (v,25) on a heavily modified version Morrowind using the latest version of Mod Organiser 2 (202 mods I think), which has always worked perfectly. Upon installing, discovered that I already had a slightly older pre-v25 version of TR, so MO2 recomended that I Rename the download - which I did.

But upon starting Morrowind, I was told that "one or more plugins couldn't find the correct version of the master files they depend on". I continued and got a bunch of error messages about "T_Glob_Sky_re', 'T_Glob_Rep_Sky_Dr', etc etc not being found and the Info was 'Empty'. And later said it was "unable to find region 'Aranyon Pass Region', but would I like to continue runnin excutable - to which I said yes. Then I get to a loadup screen, select a Save ... and the game crashes. The game works fine again if I unselect the download (TR and Tamriel_Data v25.05) in MO2.

I would print some screenshots, but that does not appear to work - and I don't really know how to use the logs or utilities (ie, troubleshoot).

If anyone could give me some advice, that would be great. I'm using Windows 10 64-bit with the following specifications:

Intel i5-9400F 6 Core ("Coffee Lake"); Asus Prime H310-Plus R2.0 (Intel LGA 1151 ATX motherboard) (Intel H310 chipset); Palit Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ampere StormX OC 12GB; 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (RGB PRO DDR4 3200mhz); Adata SX8200 Pro M.2 SSD 512GB.

Thanks,
DANNY

If you are sure you updated both Tamriel Data and Tamriel Rebuilt, my guess is, since you renamed the new download the older version is confusing the mod installation. If it comes later in the load order you might be effectively trying to run latest version of Tamriel Rebuilt with old TR Data. In other words, you should have overwritten instead of renaming. :)

If I were you, I would delete everything Tamriel (Rebuilt, Data, old, new) and reinstall the latest version.

This, plus it's not recommended to run older saves on newer installs of TR since things change between versions (like Andothren being renamed Bal Foyen).
Thanks for the advice - I'll delete everything TR and start again.
Hi,
I'm afraid the situation has become far worse. I did what you recommended and removed everything TR and reinstalled the latest version - but it still crashes with the same warning messages. If I try to start a new game, I am told that - "Express error unable to find call id 'Firemouth Legion fort' in script TR_FM_Companion_SC", and crashes.

But now, when I unselect Tamriel Data (HD) and Tamriel Rebuilt 25.05.09', the game does not even start. M02 says there are "missing masters" and the game's error message says - "Unable to find missing masterfile TR_mainland ESM". Those messages go away when you reselect Tamriel Data (HD) and Tamriel Rebuilt 25.05.09', but it still crashes as described above.

Any idea what is wrong?

Siege at Firemoth is a free DLC that doesn't come with Steam installation. Since last year Tamriel Rebuilt makes changes to this quest. According to the mod page on the Nexus, you shouldn't activate both the DLC and Tamriel. Doing so will, quote, "cause all sorts of mayhem".

*Checks his own Tamriel Rebuilt folder* Do you also have TR Factions and are you also deactivating it too? Or do you have other mods that have Tamriel Rebuilt dependency? It's obvious something is still looking TR_Mainland.esm.

I don't know what else to say. If those don't solve your issue, try asking on the Nexus.
Success! As recommended, I unactivated Siege at Firemoth, and also reinstalled Tamriel Data (HD) and Tamriel Rebuilt 25.05.09' - but it still did not work. However, I separately downloaded and installed TR Firemoth Remover, and the game started to work again - now feeling happy as it may be my favourite video game of all time.
Happy to hear. Enjoy!
