Also, Morrowind having a quest location marker is like the ultimate meme.
It (Morroblivion) is playable, but it's quality is fairly rough and ready as could be expected from a community project with volunteers dropping in and out all the time with varying skill levels. It also didn't include the expansions.
Skywind has come a long way, but more help (especially qualified help) is always needed.
---
Don't knock it til you've tried it. The development is fairly transparent and it's streamed regularly.

On the subject of quest markers, they will be available (as will fast travel), but there will be an option to turn them off in the config menu.
Is Skyrim just its (skyrim's) engine? Is Morrowind? Because that's what you sound like.
I'd say it's the worldspace, and it's content, lore etc; All the actual game stuff. But you do you.
Also will be a standalone thing like Enderal. No travelling back and forth or access to Skyrim stuff etc. without console commands or mods.
Content and its delivery are also at large defined by the engine. For instance Morrowind dialogues are the way they are because of the dialogue system.
Responses are spoken instead of shown in a text box, but otherwise still there:

*Might have to go back a few seconds.
There's always going to be some differences, but to say it's just Skyrim is ridiculous.
Its also a general consensus to a degree that Morrowind is a masterpiece best left alone. Its like a Mona Lisa the copy or derivative sucks because its not the real thing.
Todd Howard is also of the same Opinion and has stated in the distance past that Morrowind should be left alone. This could change over time lol because Bethesda is a corporation after all.
if they ever did a disservice and remade the game i wouldn't even buy it unless it was really good, if it was like a starwind or some BS then it would be extremely distasteful to the game.
Their Track record lately is not good Starwind was received poorly and being a subsidiary of Microsoft i doubt they could pull it off. Microsoft has strong tech stack but still Microsoft has also done a lot of BS.
*Starfield, not Starwind. Let's not taint Morrowind like that.
Will be interesting to see how that Oblivion remake turns out - assuming that they even continued with it.
