The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Just completed the main quest.
Well I just completed the main quest and I must say that I really liked the game, of course there's still a lot more to do but so far it's been a great experience.

After defeating Dagoth Ur though the first thing that popped to my mind was: that was weirdly easy... I'm lvl 14 currently and I thought that I was way too weak to face Dagoth Ur and expected to get my ass handed to me several times. I wasn't even sure if I'm able to do it at all yet.

I even checked Morowind wiki to find out if that was really it. Thing that I found out was that I didn't pick up the Azura's ring and I didn't get the damn spell...

I read that you're supposed to get some sort of spell when you pick up the Azura's ring?

You have to leave the way you came in for Azura to speak to you. If you teleport out you lose it.

That said, I've finished the game three times, and never once have I fought Dagoth Ur. What would my character do? Not fight a god! (That's called roleplaying). Instead I do what I'm there to do, destroy the heart. Is he really so easy a lvl 14 dude can defeat him? How lame.

I did the quest like it's supposed to but just didn't get the ring. The quest ended and I got Azura's speech, just didn't the ring.

Yes it was easy, tbh I completed it only on second try. That said I had 10 quality health potions and few stamina potions but still. Don't necesserily agree with the opinion that doing the sensible thing rather than completing the task you have is called roleplaying any more or less but to each their own.

the ring is easy to miss. I saved the game right before the dagoth fight. She gave her speech and I bolted. If I remember correctly, the ring is hovering or on ground. you have to take it.

Roleplaying is about what your character would do. I've never had a character fight Dagoth Ur because my characters always assumed he would be too tough to fight. From all the lore given to the characters, the logical conclusion is that he's unbeatable until the heart is destroyed. But it turns out he's just another mob.

fortunately I saved right before the final fight as well so I did it again. Can't believe I missed the ring, it just hovers right in front of the player.

Well you destroy the heart first anyway and then fight him. The introductions Vivec gives you says that you need to destroy the heart first. He is indeed unbeatable if you leave the heart alone but you're not supposed to fight him if you've not destroyed the heart.

Your characters need to be more ambitious :D
