while damage is less initially, the ability to hit an enemy while you stay out of their attack range is very nice. This is without having to worry about running out of arrows, bolts or other ranged weapons which would do similar work but require more skill leveling to use effectively the longer the range.
Another "Argonian Fisherman" here, love this character, spears are dope, but Bethesda seems to be on a "make it dumber" mission not "make it better" so I have little hope for Spear returning

If modders can make Serana's boobs bigger, recreate Tamriel in the Morrowind engine and give Skyrim soulslike combat, they can pop in a spear. Modders will save Elder Scrolls VI once again, haha.
