The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Tribunal? Why so soon? and...
First time enjoying Morrowind, yes, had other obligations 20 years ago...

Anyways, almost from the start got attacked by an assassin while sleeping. I simply could not beat him - many times restart quick save. Looked like it was some strange random encounter, but now I finally killed him at level 5. The looted armor is waaay OP at this level or I don't know game balance??? Trying to avoid guides, but looked it up anyways (。ŏ﹏ŏ)

Have read now Tribunal is the 1st expansion, and have to assume I should have installed a mod to delay that assassin encounter, huh? Left wondering, should I not wear "the best light armor in the game" since Light was my chosen skill anyways. OR is there some down side to wearing assassin armor, other than RP'ing this? Thanks...

what I learned at Steam - there are Mods - for any idio...
that cannot simply put their brain on

"Sleep for any length of time, anywhere but the Seyda Neen Census and Excise Office, and there's a randomized chance of your sleep being interrupted by a Dark Brotherhood Assassin (possibly two, at higher levels)."
Postat inițial de Boshiken:
"To start the Tribunal expansion content, simply use Rest (not Wait) for any length of time, and your sleep may be interrupted by masked Assassin from the Dark Brotherhood."

like your Parents tell you - not leave too soon - Boy

Maybe some people just learn - if they die early.
Postat inițial de Boshiken:
you must be the Nerevarine - to beat up an Assassin trained over 30 years
at Level 1 ;)
Level 2 = Speedrun in 2 minutes
Postat inițial de Boshiken:
so - you are discussing now - you already beat an Assassin at Level 1
selling the Armor ;)

All of this could've been 1 post. Please stop spamming.
sorry - just having time and tears in my eyes

Chitin? Hate looking like a bug... :D
Yeah. Tribunal was released 6-7 months after Morrowind, and pretty much was intended as an addon to your completed main quest. Having discovered the lore, and gained levels is good preparation. If you activate Tribunal right at the start, the content and the improved journal are worth it, but that initial dark brotherhood attack is a surprise and a challenge.

as I just avoided them till ready - what are the Options without Mods?
1. Load Game before sleep
2. Go out of the Room aka Cell
3. Use Console

Well, there's always Imperial Studded Leather and Imperial Newtscale armor. Bandit dens sometimes have the Newtscale, and finding the Imperial Studded Leather is pretty easy to find. Much easier to get than Dark Brotherhood armor or Glass armor.

LOL, yeah, Level 5 and have the Drk Bro armor now as mentioned :D AND installed the Dark Brotherhood Armor Replacer Expanded mod, which appears to be well worth the small effort for the 8 or so different colour textures to choose and the fix for the Tribunal scripts and other NPC dialogue.

Just found the Imperial studded, which is very nice and managed to trade 1 for 1 with the bug armor purchased just earlier in session.

Do not want to admit to 'fashion souls' but do like when the char looks right in my mind :D

Just as always` been the answer to this question all this time.

Some people don`t get bothered, some they even like the quickleap in progression or argue that they would have gone for another of the multiples ways that there are in this game or getting ahead quickly.
Others don`t like, you have mods to delay the beginning of the expansion to a certain levels, others prefer to just disable the expansions until they are done with the main quest, since at least tribunal quest assumes you`ve done it.

Do whatever you want.

"Exploit: If you sleep in the Balmora Guild of Fighters bedroom, between the bunkbeds and facing one of them, then the Assassin will spawn standing in the middle of the bunkbed behind you, unable to move or fight back. You may have to use an area-of-effect attack to kill him, if he spawns deep enough inside it that you cannot hit him with a weapon."
Tribunal delay mod is a necessary Mod for me. I find it extremely useful.
"The expansions were clearly designed to be installed after finishing the main game."
First of all, the assassins are defeatable at level 1 without getting special weapons and armour first (if you're lucky, or familiar with Morrowind fighting, unless you play a character having absolutely no fighting skills of any kind).
Which makes the issue even worse. The armour is overpowered for a level 1 character, and even selling it gives you a lot more money than you're supposed to have at level 1. And even "worser", it's repeatable, and you can get armour to wear and (several) armours to sell.
Fine for players who like to play Morrowind in "god mode" (once they manage to defeat the assassins) for most of the game.
Others should use a Tribunal Delayed mod or run immediately to Ebonheart to prevent the assassins from appearing (or defeat them, but not take their armour, if they can resist the temptation).

I wonder if Bethesda was aware of this exploit when they designed Tribunal to have assassins wearing such armour, and made it playable for level 1 characters.

yeah - they could have made a trigger for level or stats
maybe this is how the Mod is working
maybe you can also delay with Console Commands

Thanks to all who replied. I did search the forum and little to nothing popped up. But I should have checked for such 'adjustment' mods, sadly there are always a few for BGS games.

And to the other post, yes! I have faces and body replacers installed; Oblivion is about my limit for early game gfx, but am enjoying this early gem.

I did not find all Codes for the Expansion and Trigger in TES yet.
Maybe you can get them - so we can understand more about it.
