The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

MOinstaller
i dowloaded the overhaul mod from ornitocopter, extracted the files into my morrowind directory. i then ran the MOinstaller until i got to a page where i had to turn my UAC off to run the program, after i turned my UAC off i had to reboot my pc. did that and tried to run MO again and it won't run. what i mean by this is, when i click run on the pop up that comes up, it loads for 2 seconds then the pop up comes up again that says run or cancel. the process of that repeats each time i press run, but MOinstaller does not come up. anyone know a solution so i can run MOinstaller to upload/apply MGSO. also, my system is windows vista

i have tried deleting MO and extracting the files again and running it - same problem.
i have downloaded overhaul from another site of ornitocopter and then overote the files - same problem.

whats going on?

Your solution is uninstall morrowind, then manually delete morrowind folder, the reinstall morrowind from scratch, then reput MGO in morrowind folder, then re-run it from scratch.

Also note that MGO requires a clean install. After you have installed MGO and it works, you can add other mods.

Turning off your UAC leaves your computer in a relatively unsafe, exposed to danger condition.

The need to turn UAC off can be avoided by Uninstalling Morrowind and then doing your Reinstall to some subdirectory outside of the traditional "C:\Program Files (x86)\" {Steam's Default install location}. This is a subdirectory intended to be protected by UAC.

As an example, I re-installed ALL my Steam games {from Steam's top-of-screen commands} in a new Subdirectory located at "C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\". No more UAC conflict. I was able to successfully install MOInstaller, MGSO, etc.

Hope that's helpful.
