Sneak Kills
Joined the Morang Tong. My first assassination attempt went poorly, (the crime got reported, but by presenting the writ of execution, i was off the hook).

i was wondering, is it possible to assassinate in sneak mode and remain undetected? I think in Oblivion, as long as i was sneaking i could assassinate someone with a bow and arrow and no one would know it was me. Also, i could reverse pickpocket poisons and stealth-kill people undetected in plain view.

can this be accomplished in Morrowind? Any tips for stealth killing?

thanks!

I started a new character recently, a stealth oriented one. I would think it's possible, but you'll ned a sick bow, and great arrows to 1 shot someone. (In this game they don't forget about the arrow portruding from there back just because they can't see you) (that was a skyrim joke)

the stealth system isn't as in-depth, im sure you can get away with stealth kills as long as the indicator says you're out of sight. go for 1 shot kills. there's no reverse pickpocketing poisons as far as i recall.

if you know your target ahead of time, just bully the target into attacking you before you accept the quest and you avoid the whole crime reporting in entirety. the morag tong won't give you the reward, and will even comment on working out of line. but, it completes the quest. just a thought.

Bound bow is maybe the best, it's daedric and give a permanent effect fortify marksman 10. With an enchanted arrow it can deal a good amount of dmg, but oneshotting NPCs depends on difficulty level, @ normal difficulty and above it's unlikely.

You can use a chamaleon spell/enchantment/scroll, but at least of magnitude 50. They shouldn't detect you, but if an NPC is wounded and can't see you, his reaction is to flee, so you could use many attempts. With chamaleon on you should make critical hits, at least the first.

Another solution is the "Command humanoid" spell. When you use that spell any npc will follow you. Bring them away from cities, guards, witnesses, and kill the target unreported.

If you are not into magics, try taunting the target untill it attacks you, but as mentioned, you will not get the reward.

In morrowind there are no poisons, poison is a magical effect you can give to a weapon, or a spell. With alchemy you can make negative effect potions, but these are just for selling becouse there's no way to make npcs drink them. With alchemy you can make a potion that fortifies your strenght a lot and then try a one-hit-kill with chamaleon on.
