Question about the Lady sign
Hi,
So the Lady looks like one of the best signs because its important to raise Endurance a.s.a.p. But I read on UESP today that the gain in HP you get every level is based on your Endurance without enchantments and attribute buffs etc. Does that include the Endurance boost you get from the Lady, since, if memory serves, that is listed under active effects?

If the text is to be belived then yes the Enduracne buff from the sign is considered an attribute buff and therefore wont affect HP gain.

I tested it out, it won't effect your health when you start out. However when you level up to level 2, it will give you the the health that you would if you had that end normally. So at 50 you would get 5 hp points. With the lady sign it raises it to 75, so you would get 7 hp points on level up.

I don't think that's right. Health gain in level up uses your base endurance when calculating HP increase.
EG I have 100 Endurance.
I wear helm of Oreyn Bearclaw to boost it to 140. Then I level up.
I gain 10 HP. Not 14.
Tested myself.
Edit: SavetheKupo, that's why it doesn't effect your starting health, too.

You can never go past the 10 HP limit when leveling up. I made 2 characters. Dark Elf Acrobats, one with the lady sign and the other with the mage sign. The lady sign gained 8 hp on level up, so I was wrong there. The mage sign gained 5 hp. So yes, the Lady sign does help you if you want to rank up endurance to 100 early to get the 10 HP per level up.
From UESP:
"Endurance is the governing Attribute for Heavy Armor, Medium Armor, and Spear. It affects:
How much maximum Health you have. Each time you level up, your Endurance is divided by 10 and this value is added to your current maximum.
Only your base endurance is used to calculate your additional health on level up. For example, if you have 50 base Endurance and +20 from a Fortify Endurance effect, your total Endurance will be 70; however, you will get only an additional 5 health when you level up. Note that increases to endurance do not retroactively increase hit points, so it is advisable to maximize endurance as soon as possible."

Edit: A further post says the Lady does boost HP gain, but enchantment (IE Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw) do not. Kinda odd.

Does the Lady make the game display Endurance on the level up screen with the +25? Ie at level 2, it would show your endurance as 75 on the level up screen?
Whereas if you used console to give a lvl 1 character the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw and equipped it (lol) at level 2, the game would only show your endurance as 50 on level up screen, is that right?

Although the Lady appears as a magic effect, it might have simply been programmed as an exception for HP gains, code-wise.

Yes, it does show 75 at the level up screen. Not sure about enchanted items. It's kinda weird.
Ah that explains it. The game registers it as base endurance, as the guy above said
