Fighters guild or Thieves Guild
So i am at the point where i need to decide between the fighters guild or the thieves. My character is Stealth/magic and uses short blades so im considering the thieves guild but the only real benenfit early on seems to be the ability to buy lock picks and probes. The fighters guild seems like the better choice at the moment. Advice please?

You can join both factions, and even become Leader of both factions, IF you do the right quests in the right order.
It just needs a little working out.

hmmm ok cause im on the secret code book quest and the Theives guild was saying i need to figure out where my loyalties lie, So your both saying just complete every quest with the Fighters guild then burn that bridge and do the thieves guild quest line since im a Stealth class?

This is off Google
"If you want to join both the Fighters and Thieves Guilds, first join the Fighters Guild, and when you get this quest, get Sottilde to give you the book. Then, before returning to Eydis Fire-Eye, talk to Sugar-Lips Habasi about membership for the Thieves Guild."

From UESP on the Code Book quest:

If you accept this quest before completing the Bitter Cup, then completing the Bitter Cup will allow you to bypass this quest by asking Eydis for more Orders, after which she will give you another quest.
You can also skip this quest, and the remaining quests by Eydis Fire-Eye, and still get to be the head of both guilds by doing other quests.

Basically don't actually complete the Code Book and wait with further Fire-Eye quests until you're further along in the Thieves Guild.

There's actually a way to complete the quest AND join the Thieves' Guild. I highly recommend that you do so, because that way, you get to see ALL aspects of that little quest-line at once. Basically, it just requires that you get the code book, join the Thieves' Guild, THEN complete the quest. But completing "The Bitter Cup" and giving said item to Eydis Fire-Eye is still a good idea, as doing so prevents another problem later on in the Thieves' Guild quest-line.
