Why are there still Ash Storms though Dagoth Ur is dead?
Silly question maybe, but it's bugging me. Before I ever went to Red Mountain I killed every Dagoth in all the 6th House locations Assumanu, Endusal, Falasmaryon, Hassour, Ilunibi, Kogoruhn, Mamaea, Odrosal, Subdun, Tureynulal, Vemynal, and Yakin

I met with Azura after Dagoth Ur was dead and she gave me her ring. Everywhere I go people recognize me as the Nerevarine (though some of them still call me Outlander, grrr!)

There are sill dreamers wandering around though they aren't hostile, but I figured all signs of Dagorh Ur's evil presence would now be gone.

Have I overlooked something or is that just how the game is?

A volcano is still a volcano. The Blight is gone, the ash isn't.

The Red Mountain is supposed to become a "normal" climate zone with clear sky most of the time and no "red" storms anymore. Normal ash storms remain as a random weather effect though

Okay, that makes perfect sense. Thanks.

However... I just found a cavern named Rissun while nosing around some islands west of Tel Branora and it contained an Ash Slave, a Corprus walker, a couple of hostile Dreamers and a 6th House altar; no Dagoth-type though. Shouldn't all these creatures be freed from Dagoth Ur's influence now he's gone?

Azura mentioned I was now Morrowind's "protector" but I sure hope I don't have to search out and destroy each and every last remaining minion of the now departed but unlamented Dagoth Ur!

clear a dungeon
and come back after 72 hours

"2 minutes of real time = 1 hour of game time"

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Time

"Some creatures in the wild and in dungeons,
and certain NPCs such as guards,
will respawn after 72 in-game hours have passed."

The Ash creatures are magically created or transformed, the magic doesn't get undone. In theory this should mean no more can be made, but the game's systems can't really account for that, so they'll respawn.

The Corprus creatures are just people afflicted with the 'divine disease' (corprus being any skin disease). Whether it's actually a disease or a corrupted blessing is debatable. It's cause may be gone, but that doesn't mean all of it's effects will be retroactively cured. As above though, the game doesn't really account for that.

The Dreamers are fanatical cultists who believe in Dagoth Ur and his plans - His dream.
Any surviving 'sleepers' named or otherwise (not the Ascended Sleepers) should be back to normal though.

The altars, bells etc. are physical objects.

The 'Dagoth' creatures are unique rather than generic, so shouldn't respawn.

1. Ash Creatures are spawn by Dagoth Ur.

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Ash_Creatures

"Ash creatures are horrific monsters spawned by Dagoth Ur
through connection with the disease known as Corprus."

2. Corprus itself does nothing - but a Spell.

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Corprus

"This effect is given by catching the Corprus disease.
When included in a spell ...
On its own, it does not actually do anything"

3. In Game there are only 2 ways to contract Corprus.

"There are only two ways to contract this disease
- during the Sixth House Base quest for the Main Quest,
which is completely unavoidable,
and fighting Tanusea Veloth."
