What are some cool character ideas for a new Morrowind playthrough?
So far I have played as a spear wielding argonian, a breton knight, a dunmer warrior, a dunmer assassin and a bosmer archer. I can't think of any other cool ideas so I was hoping if someone had a cool suggestion.

Sounds like a spell focused character is missing (unless you don't enjoy that). How about an ice mage? Perhaps a nord?

Stealth assassin (by stealth assassin, I mean the use of throwing stars and the like, together with alteration and illusion magic)

Yeah I havent tried a magic using character yet, except my assassin character uses some magic powers and an enchanted glass jinkblade, as well as amulets. That does sound fun though.

Throwing stars look cool though, like a real ninja.

Like mentioned above: How about a pure spellcaster, or a buddying mater enchanter? Or a to-be master sorcerer mastering multiple schools of magic. Relying on magic alone (unless a quest requires the use of weapons) definitely comes with its own challenges.

Magic is great. Play a Dunmer and join House Telvanni, their focus on magical supremacy and scheming is really cool.

Right now I'm playing a speechcraft/personality focused imperial. It's a build i've really been sleeping on but it's really fun. You see, in morrowind if you cast a "calm" spell on an hostile NPC, you can talk to them. You can then use the "persuasion" feature to intimidate them which will pacify them, and if you attack them after that they will helplessly run away from you, really fun ! You can easily intimidate an entire cavern full of overleveled bandits and send them running in all directions, defenseless.

Speechcraft sounds fun.

It is ! And if you're looking for something original, that's definitely a build I've never seen anywhere on youtube (or anywhere else for that matter). The only problem is that for speechcraft to be usable in combat you need to pair it with a calm spell. But if you know where and how to get money quickly, you can easily enchant a ring with a "calm humanoids 30 pts for 3 seconds" enchantement (1 second is too short to open the dialogue window in time), 30 pts should be enough for 99% of all npcs in the game.

I'm doing another fresh playthrough while holding back my first one. I'm going to play a scholar/historian/curator/archaeologist. Since I'm all about the books and selling artifacts it will give me an excuse to take time to read some books. Read a couple and there's a lot of hidden lore. Going for high mercantile, speechcraft, personality, intelligence. Use conjuration and mysticism as well. Joined the guilds: Mage Guild, Imperial Cult, Hlaalu (they are entrepeneurs and politicians), and trying to find a way to join the East Empire Company. Books, scrolls and high value items. A good excuse to play a magic caster as well which I usually don't play.

Had this character idea on Skyrim but it seems to play out better in Morrowind.

Since you wanna be a scholar, wouldn't it make more sense to join the Telvanni ? I know they are technically enemies of the mages guild but you could roleplay as the one who finally unites both of these factions by becomming their archmage.

Personally, I have no issues with my char joining both the telvannis and the mages guild. It's part of my Blades cover story. in order to get behind the curtains one sometimes have to get dirty.

I've never had any issues with it either, but i know a lot of people do.

Mages guild and telvanni aren't even enemies, just rivals. Joining mages guild is like baby's first wizard guild. Telvanni is for when you're more advanced and cultured, the logical next step
