Extract the MGE XE archive to your Morrowind folder, if installing manually, or if using the installer, run that.
MGE XE also requires the Morrowind Code Patch (MCP) to run if you haven't got that. Likewise extract it's archive to the Morrowind folder, then run the Morrowind Code Patch.exe file.
2) Go back and read the installation instructions for whatever mods you have installed and make sure you actually followed them.
3) Check your MWSE and mgeXE log files to see if anything looks funny.
I find a non-OpenMW install with MGE XE, Morrowind Code Patch, etc. to be very stable until *I* screw something up.
Scroll down and check out the VoV documentation of how many lines are voiced and how many left to go: https://kezyma.github.io/?p=voicesofvvardenfell
See how there is 60% / 20% for purists patch
I played purists and the first character, i forget his name, some of his lines aren't voiced in mge xe
if there's any unvoiced lines, i can't play the rpg.
but i'm playing morrowind. like i said i learned. i went back to openmw i heart vanilla, pulled out obsidian and now i'm creating my own journal. eveything that's said. creating connections. task lists. you name it.
is that how it's supposed to be played? in this day and age, i believe so.
in the day and age when VoV has 100% voices either in openmw or mge xe, that's the next generation of the game and will bring in more players. players like me, that have no time todo what i'm doing.
think about it. me using obsidian like that is, here i'll share a screenshot, it's part of the gameplay and as soon as it gets boring learning obsidian or i find any other use for it that's a better use of my time. i'll stop playing morrowind. you have to know css and have used autohotkey to use obsidian like i do.
morrowind needs voice acting to keep my attention. if it want to have new players to the game try it, it needs voice acting. say whatever you want about those new players, they're just different from you and have had a different experience, they can teach you things.
i'm finding a way to have fun without the voice acting. how long will that last? I dunno
I press the titlde key to swap between just seeing the game to giving obsidian focus and seeing it over the game.
