Modded Morrowind fresh install crashes on starting "New Game"
Why Is Newly Re-installed Morrowind Crashing on Start-up?:
I recently reinstalled Morrowind and set about remodding it by following guidelines in BTB's Morrowind Mod List. I ran Morrowind Code Patch and MGE 3.8.0. I used Mlox several times and corrected the conflicts it turned up using NMM and various mod sources. I started Morrowind, got to Main Menu & clicked "New Game". After protesting with several pop-up error messages, it promptly crashed.

The Warnings.txt file follows:
“One of the files that "Vivec_Voice_addon TRIBUNAL.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save. This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "BetterClothesForTB.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save. This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "Passive_Healthy_Wildlife.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save. This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message but not necessarily fix any errors.

Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_1.
Unable to find referenced object "|MGEpipe" in script MGE_Zoom.”

I could not find a “Foot part” either. But I did find and install Better Clothes_v1.1_nac.esp. BetterClothesForTB and BetterClothesBloodmoonPlus and More Better Clothes Vol 1 - Vanilla also are installed. Was not able to find anything like "|MGEpipe" nor how to do anything to MGE_Zoom.

Mlox & NMM showed all mods had the required Masters.
I do not understand why a change in an .ESP's master file since the “last save” makes any difference when there are NO SAVES.
Nevertheless, I disabled the 3 offending .esp's and tried again. The game crashed again on start-up leaving a shorter warnings.txt:

“Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_1.
Unable to find referenced object "|MGEpipe" in script MGE_Zoom.”

Mlox shows nothing related to Better Clothes nor MGE_Zoom ?
So ... does anyone know how to overcome this problem?

Hi, have you tried to use MGEXE .10?
Also, you have 76 esp´s. I would say that its time to use Wrye mesh and make use of that bashed patch :)

I'll try to save you some time.

That error is harmless. Don't waste time on it.

Here's the real problems:

-You're using NMM and you have an extensive loadlist. That's not good. I recommend switching to Wrye Mash, which was made specifically for Morrowind.

-"Unable to find referenced object "|MGEpipe" in script MGE_Zoom.”
Pretty sure that's the cause of your crash. I think it was related to some third person view options in MGE. I recommend looking through MGE's options and try to disable any active fancy effects for third person and also check if the internal MWSE is activated (which should be).

@logorouge, thanks for your help. I could not find an option in MGE for 3rd person view. I did find one in Morrowind Code Patch; adjust camera position for 3rd person view. So, I deselected that.

@Kongha, thanks for your suggestion. Will study how to use Wrye mash.

Well ... partial victory ?

Ran MGE 18MAR2016: set Resolution to 1600 x 900; FullScreen - maybe should use Window ?
UNchecked “Correct aspect ratio when zooming”. “Anti-aliasing” level is set to “None” ?
? Can't enable Screen Shots ? Option is “grayed” out.
“Z-buffer format” is set to “D24S8” ?
Still had Crash after selecting “New” game & clicked “Yes” to pop-up error message.

2nd Try: Selected “Windowed mode” for Global graphics.
? What effect does “Z-buffer format” have ?
Initial zoom default = 3.
Must 'bind the “toggle zoom” function to a key in the macro editor'; Bound to <Z>.
Also, bound "Screenshot" to <F12> to match Steam and enabled Steam overlay.

Startup successful. Saved outside C&E Office. Now Screenshots do work.

WARNINGS.txt says: "Texture "Textures\Tx_BC_mud.tga" count 3.
Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3.
Texture "Textures\menu_thick_border_bottom_right_corner.dds" count 2."
Have no idea what this means, but the "|MGEpipe in script MGE_zoom" warning is gone.

Did not look like "Better Bodies" took effect.
NMM says "better_bodies_v2_1_.0" is installed. BUT no .esp shows up.

Mlox says: "!!!'Better Clothes_v1.1.esp' Requires: > 'MISSING(Better Bodies.esp)'
| "Better Clothes" requires version 2.1 or 2.2 of Psychodog Studios' "Better Bodies"

Installed manually and "Better Bodies v2.0.exe" was in "Data Files".
Ran BB v2.0.exe but still no .esp is visible. REDID & "Better Bodies.esp" appeared.
Does Better Bodies install directly into a .BSA ?
AND Mlox still says Better Clothes is lacking Better Bodies ?
Although Better Bodies.esp" is in the Windows browser, it still does not show in the NMM Plugins list.

Restarted TES3: Launcher Data Files did show Better Bodies.esp. Got Warnings re missing master files {Mlox showed all there} & |MGEpipe. CTD.

Reran MGE to check Macros for Zoom & Screenshots; still set. Now Better Bodies.esp is in NMM .

Changed to FullScreen in MGE.exe.
Installed MGE XE 0.9.10: Sets: Resolution to 1920x1080 Full Screen; 4x Anisotropic filter; Shaders; FPS; auto FOV=95; Depth vertex Fog; PNG Screenshots; Distant land 5.0 cells; 150/600/800 min.Statics; Responsive menu caching; Show subtitles; Allow screenshots using <PrintScreen>; MGE compresses & saves to ...\Morrowind\Screenshots\... ; Bound “Toggle shaders” to <S> & “Zoom” to <Z> & “Screenshot” to <F12>.
Morrowind launched successfully & ran up through Fargoth hiding place quest & Murdered Taxman found. Saved. Exited.

Glitches exist in Mushrooms & some other ingredients items result in ugly yellow polys that obstruct vision. During DB Assassin attack, was unable to see assassin {could hear “Die fetcher” monologue}. Music was missing and error popups interrupted play each time a new scene started. Will see about reinstalling proper plugins. :Norse:

Morrowind seems to be running OK now. Using MGE XE vice MGE eliminated the “Unable to find referenced object "|MGEpipe" in script MGE_Zoom. CTD” problem. Still seem to be missing some feet for BC_Clothes.

Disabling “DM_DB Armor Replacer (BTB Edit).esp” eliminated the DB Assassin yellow polys but also lost the nice silver assassin's dagger; this may have permanently disarmed the DBA. The last attacker had no weapon !

Disabling “Syc_HerbalismforPurists (Pearl Bug Edit).esp” and restoring “Syc_HerbalismforPurists.esp” fixed the Mushrooms yellow polys problem.

Enabling “MAO_BCsounds.esp” and “MAO_Firemoth.esp” eliminated most missing music error pop-ups; but not all. This will take some more investigation to solve. :Norse:

Though Morrowind seems to be running satisfactorily {except for excessive error pop-ups during startup}, Now a new Warnings.txt is generated as follows:

“Chunk size 2573 too big in chunk NAME_ID in form GLOB_ID.
Max size is 32, data truncated to "".
Unknown ?SCP_ID in ConstructObject.
DataHandler: unrecognized form
Look in the Warnings.txt file for more info.
Unable to find script 'syc_HFP_empty' on object 'Contain_BM_wolfbane_01'.
Unable to find script 'syc_HFP_empty_norespawn' on object 'Contain_BM_belladonna_0'.
Music file not found: data files/music/AO\Silence.mp3
Sound file not found: data files\sound\AO\InWeather\rain_3D.wav ... “

{thereupon follows roughly 23+K pages in word processor of missing Music files popup warnings;
Indeed, the “AO\inWeather\rain_3D.wav” subdirectory & file are completely absent !}

I know not what ”Chunk size” nor ”NAME_ID in form GLOB_ID”
nor ”SCP_ID in ConstructObject”
nor ”syc_HFP_empty' on object 'Contain_BM_wolfbane_01”
nor ”syc_HFP_empty_norespawn' on object 'Contain_BM_belladonna_0” are?
Wolfbane and belladonna occur in Solstheim.
