favorite race?

curious what everyone's favoriteor prefered race is. I've only beaten the main story with a khahhit, but it was sweet. felt good being a slave race and becoming the neravar

In morrowind, Breton, Imperial, or Dark Elf.

All Elder games after this, Breton all the way.

Back when i first played the game on my xbox I always played a Dark Elf. Now though Im less picky.

I always love Dark Elves in games, though my very first time playing Morrowind I picked wood elf...cause I didnt know you could change the faces...

But Dunmer is my favorite race and always my main character's race in each TES. I do, ironically I suppose, really like Argonians and Khajiit too.

My favourite would probably have to be my most-used, which has to go to Wood Elf.
I also don't think I've ever played a High Elf.

My favourite is Argonian, but in Morrowind they're too limited with what gear they can wear so I tend to stay away. I really like Nords for their anti magic buffs (100% frost resist and 50% shock resist), plus they have Woad (50 point shield) and Thunderhammer (I think?) which does some magic damage. Orc is also excellent, beserk is insanely powerful especially with strength enchants.

Argonian in Skyrim is OP with histskin (super fast health regen), as is Altmer (they have a skill which does super fast mana regen). So I guess it changes for me depending on which game. Aesthetically though, Argonian all the way.

To be honest i never really had a favorite, in every game i played, i picked the titular race:

Horace Hobbs, a Breton Nightblade of the Thieves Guild in Daggerfall
Zeleb Hlatta, a Redoran Dunmer Sorcerer of the Mages Guild in Morrowind
Mars Ignis, an Imperial Warrior and member of the Fighters Guild in Oblivion
Wild Sorik, a Nord Hunter and Companion, Thane of Whiterun in Skyrim

Though if i had to pick, i think i would go with the Imperial. After all, i have always been a big supporter of the Empire and all it stands for.

Mine used to be Argonian, as you can just zoom around, and I really like unarmored and spear, plus sometimes alchemy. Who is the best? For warrior-type class, that'd be orc, as they are great defensively, what with heavy armor, block, and armorer, and ax is easy to level. All of people seem to perfer Redguards and Nords, but REdguards are the extreme(great with weapons/medeocre with armor) while Nords are a nice middle ground, but mostly unimpressive tro me. Best mage race is theoretically Breton or High Elf, because one has nice magicka and nice magical defense, whilst the other has awesome magicka but magical weaknesses. In my opnion, the best mage race is argoninan, because they have some nice non spellcasting skills, like alchemy and unarmored, but also are very fast and can fight, and have an armor skill other than unarmored. And for real magic they got illlusion and mysticism. Best thief type...with them I mainly focus on things like short blade, light armor, and marksmen, so Dark Elves, so you could say I'm in it for the combat. Oh yeah, to conclude...Argonian is my favorite.

I agree, the best warriors I've made have always been Orcs. Beserk is just way too good (great for one on one fights with powerful foes, but not so great against groups). Also I feel like Axe levels so well because of how easy it is to knock enemies down with it, which reduces their agility huge so your attacks when they're prone are almost guaranteed to hit. Plus axes are just cool.

Pretty sure there's a mod to make helms and boots available to beast races, not that I've personally used it but it's there.

Back on the old Xbox I used to use Imperials mostly. Looking back I'm not sure why, the bonuses to personailty based skills are nice but they're hardly the best at combat and magic.
My current favourite are Bretons for the starting ability to absorb half the magic thrown at you and the bonus to my favourite magic skill ever, alchemy.

Hard to beat the increased magicka and 50% magicka resistance
But I play them as a warrior, not a mage
