The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

aged extremely well
im not a huge fan of playing older titles due to the control differences and or visuals but morrowind feels different.
to me morrowind is closer to modern "niche" indie games than old titles.
i dont even like to replay my childhood favorite games.
even oblivion feels yuckier to play than morrowind for me

the closest thing that comes to mind when i mention "niche" indie games is something like kenshi.

i hope i atleast got part of my feeling across as i hate and cant write for ♥♥♥♥.

this game aged like a fine port wine

I have no idea what you are talking about but keeping it simple stupid the Bethesda way I will explain

Oblivion hard core uncanny valley they tried to be “current gen” at the time and failed even than and now it just looks like a bad nightmare. Skyrim for it’s time looked realistic but as time went on it’s showing it’s age and now seeing through the cracks the npcs look pretty uncanny.

Morrowind never tried to look realistic so it’s faces are timeless the same way super Mario pixel classes are always timeless.

Art direction is the best in morrowind it was creatively and smartly done and didn’t try to reach higher than it needed to it and landed on the perfect spot. Based and dagoth pilled and forever the best tes game.
really - you played Oblivion before Morrowind

I started with Daggerfall like in 97
Seems like you are a tes 4 fan boy who is hiney hurt my guy everyone knows that game has HORRIBLE art direction and melting corpses for npcs let’s not try and pretend otherwise.

Copium seems more addicting than skooma

How am I insulting “people “ I’m talking about a game. You come off butt hurt especially talking in a cryptic way.

Many many people agree tes 4 has a horribly ugly art direction. It’s goofy / campy and the npcs looked hideous even Starfield has the same issue and it’s “current gen” Bethesda try to hard post morrowind to make things “realistic” and they fail at it. It is what it is, I’m just explaining how and why morrowind holds up. Now reason to take it personally it’s bizarre

I’ve explained way more detail than your Confucius says riddle talk

Calling someone a fan boy is not an insult. I am a morrowind fan boy. You just come off like you are deeply offended someone doesn’t like the art direction of tes 4 and are taking it personally by using this bizarre “really” thing whatever that means and gaslighting attempts.

I’m having a adult discussion as a graphic artist about art direction and in detail why morrowind holds up. If you can’t handle it than just block me I’m not here to argue with you in weird riddles in fact I’m gonna do the job for you.
I’m just gonna chuck this up as a possible language barrier thing and move on.

While I do think melting corpses is pretty appropriate for oblivion, I prefer wax museum people myself.

Still the fields and architecture in oblivion are very nice. Also patrick stewart. Nothing with patrick stewart can be bad right?

I think fields of boring generic green Sherwood Forest / Walmart lord of the rings was pretty bland. And not sure what museum people is but I’m gonna assume you mean wax museum figures melting.

As for Patrick Stewart I could take him or leave I’m not a big Star Trek or x men fan.
Its hard to be an xmen fan with those generic and bland films.

Look up jim lee if you want to see what xmen really is, none of those marvel films are a measure of anything but money wasted.

Yeah not a big fan of Marvel I was always more of a Batman fan as a kid and I mean the comics. Never got into marvel anything.

Most people irl look no better than an average Oblivion NPC. From what I see every day you're lucky if you've got the face of the Nameless from Gothic 1.
If anything to me Oblivion was a welcome departure from "artistic" human appearance, with unnatural beauty or exaggerated, sharp and "sculpted" features, to a more realistic and normal look.
Nobody actually looks like movie characters or even their own photos. Weak features, face swelling and oily skin are extremely common.
