The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Sliding when I jump
whenever I jump I slide for a few seconds before landing. This happens regardless of whether its a flat surface or not. Im playing a high elf. Ive tried player->setSIze and that didnt do anything. I also tried changing max fps and while it did shorten it, even at 15 fps it still happens. I put one of my main skills as acrobatics so if I stop jumping im missing out on levels. Any help would be appreciated.

edit: I fixed it through enableracemenu to wood elf

turn off vsync and use the MGEXE frame limiter. if youre using an nvidia card, turn on fast vsync in your control panel as well.

I found another slice, saying that if you raise your acrobatics skill the problem goes away. Try doing that in the console
Yeah I locked it and it was less but was still there even at 15 fps. I both those posts and in the second one he posts nevermind after it if I recall.

Noticed the same. And it seems it appeared only recently, for whatever reason. When I played the game about a year ago it was normal

It seems tied to high elves and perhaps tall races in general

No that is a different thing, and outdated. dont use that. Try these:

1. Morrowind Code patch (MCP) https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/19510
2. Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGExe) https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/41102
Since none of that worked is there a way to change your race/physics/camera/height in console without loosing your racial buffs. I did changed the height before but it didnt change the camera and the bug persisted. I know I dont get the issue with other races.

Edit: I was able to change my race appearance to wood elf without loosing the stats and the issue is fixed

If youre trying to level acrobatics it isnt

jump up stairs, 2 jumps = 1xp in acrobatics (i guess its xp)
if you have it in major skills i guess that extra .25xp contributes too

grinding isn't really viable without trainers otherwise so i get your point

I noticed this problem as soon as I started playing Orc, after starting as a Dunmer, and listened to the people in this thread. I tried to make a solution: I made an addon (I actually modified an existing addon, using TES Construction Set) to change the height of Orc to 1.00, or standard height. So far it seems to have solved the issue completely. I didn't change the weight setting, its still 1.25. If you want to feel bigger than the other races you can make them all smaller?

Your game runs too fast, change the max fps from the Morrowind.ini from 240 to something lower like 60
had the problem changes that works fine now

Just adding another data point to the discussion: I can confirm that the problem exists and seems to be related to the tall races, however in my case it only seemed to manifest either on sloped ground terrain, or on objects (such as walkways, the tops of walls, docks, and so on) whether they are sloped or not. Didn't happen on flat, level ground. Very annoying in Seyda Neen when I was trying to get goodies out of the hollow stumps.

In my case adjusting the FPS down to 60 reduced the slippage to a few inches, which is barely noticable. No more sliding off the docks into the water.
