The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Sliding when I jump
whenever I jump I slide for a few seconds before landing. This happens regardless of whether its a flat surface or not. Im playing a high elf. Ive tried player->setSIze and that didnt do anything. I also tried changing max fps and while it did shorten it, even at 15 fps it still happens. I put one of my main skills as acrobatics so if I stop jumping im missing out on levels. Any help would be appreciated.

edit: I fixed it through enableracemenu to wood elf

You could try getting bug fix mods. Otherwise Im not sure what would cause this or fix it. Or a clean re-install

I think this is a problem with some of the races, although I'm not entirely sure. OpenMW fixes this bug, and a lot of other physics related bugs.

Alright I installed it but my save file isnt there. Also do I have to launch it from openmw every time?

Alright I looked into a bit and apparently there is a converter but it isnt complete. Is there any other mod that fixes it?

Edit: I tried the unofficial morrowind patch and the issue remains

Not sure its a bug with the game itself. Ive never had it happen in the nearly 20 years ive had this game. But, Ive also been using mods like Morrowind Code Patch and MGEXE all those years too.

Try updating your graphic driver. Or reinstalling it. And/Or try those mods I just mentioned.

Is the unofficial code path the same thing? Because that didn't work for me. I'll check out mgexe I guess.

No that is a different thing, and outdated. dont use that. Try these:

1. Morrowind Code patch (MCP) https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/19510
2. Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGExe) https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/41102

I installed the code patch and the issue persists. Should I try the graphics extender aswell since it has some relation to framerate?

Edit: I installed the graphics extender aswell and the issue persists.

Uninstall your graphics driver and reboot. If reinstalling your graphics driver doesnt work, I got nothing else. Other than trying a different graphic card.

Try this:

"Seem's like this issue can be FPS-related. When I locked it to 30 - sliding nearly absent, but with this fps hard to play. When lock at 60 - sliding present but at nearly acceptable levels.
So in morrowind.ini to lock fps change line "Max FPS=xxx" to 60 or something. Could be good if graphics fps and physic fps were independent. "

I found another slice, saying that if you raise your acrobatics skill the problem goes away. Try doing that in the console
