But seriously there is no best race or birthsign. There are only preferences.
Random fun fact that nobody, absolutely nobody, cares about: "beast race" and "best race" would have sounded very similar in conservative London pronunciation in the 17th century, The pronunciation of traditional <-ea-> words with the same vowel as in <-ee-> words was originally a vulgar development in London, and was highly stigmatized by 'polite speakers, such as Alexander Gil. for example, in 1621. and it's Bosmer because beast tongue > cliff racer.
Redguard for stamina and weapon bonuses
High Elf for magicka bonuses
Breton for a balance between magicka and melee bonuses
Honestly, just pick whatever looks best to you. You can always join the Mages Guild when you’re tired of being a mere mortal.
or imperial because they look uniquely JACKED
Uhm, yeah there is actually, unlike other games in the series the race matters depending on how you're going to play. A Nord with the warrior class and the warrior sign, is going to be a supirior warrior, then an Argonian with the same class and sign.
if you want to be an a$$ kicking Warrior pick Nord or Ork races.
Wizard? High elf Breton or Argonian
Thief/Assassin/Archer Wood elf or either of the beast races.
Imperials are Good with speechcraft and trading and so forth. a jack of all trades.
