So to get to the apartment you're trying to find:
1) Go to the Hall of Wisdom and instead of entering, face north.
2) Go across the bridge and immediately turn right.
3) The first door on your left is Canalworks South-1.
HOWEVER, there's an easier way of completing this quest. The guy who sent you, Hlaren Ramoran, wants you to act as a matchmaker between himself and Nalvilie Saren, but she won't have him. But what you CAN do is talk to Ramoran's bodyguard, Nalvyna Sarinth; she's got a crush on him. Once you find that out, let Ramoran know. That'll complete the quest in a happier and easier way.
thanks for the answer. I have been playing this game sense 2 days after release some 21 yrs ago and the solution you explained was the first time I heard of it. Unlike some who think they are "CUTE" or "cool" are just immature children.
No problem. I also strongly advise that you check out the UESP website. I use it all the time when I'm stuck on a TES game.
I do try to use it but it takes a bit of time...My comment was made in a moment of desperation I just thought you were some kid.
Nope, not a kid. Been playing the game since I was in college.
My best advice for using the UESP site is to start out with a general Internet search for something that's connected to the information you want. Most often, the UESP entry for what you're looking for will be near the top of the list. The site also has a search bar and a list of different sections on the left side of the screen, just below the UESP logo.
