the lady the ring and the pool
I think this quest where you get the ring from the pool and then have to fight the 2 ladies Is is messed up because I killed the invisible lady before I took the quest. Secondly I thought if I find the ring and give it to the lady who asks you to find it I can then kill her and complete the quest .
The problem even reading the solution I can not find the ring so If I just kill the ring lady it will make me a wanted man. So should I just not complete the quest and just go on with the game or kill her and go on with the game and interact with a guard and pay the fine......:KneelingBow:

Huh?

No need to complete the quest, it's just a random small quest and the "reward" of that quest is getting that amulet of shadows (which basically breaks the game because of how cheap and powerful it is) from the invisible person, whom you said you killed. The other woman doesn't have ♥♥♥♥ so just leave her, you got the good stuff already.

if i remember it correctly i used the night eye spell the first few times i needed to locate the ring. it helped.
now i know the location of the ring i dont need it anymore though so it has been a while since i used it.

Edit:
the uesp has a picture which makes it a bit easier to find the ring.

the next time I play I will try to find the ring. I do not understand the directions and the plants to locate the ring but it doesn't matter I killed the invisible character already so I will just move on

The ring is nothing, the chameleon enchantment the other person is wearing is high level and awesome loot.

still, if you already started the quest than i prefer to complete it, removing it from the list.

If the intent is purely to get rid of the quest from the quest list in your journal, you could always use the console to do so. The following command should do it:

Journal MV_LostRing 40

using console commands when you can just finish the quest instead is not really recommended though, it can cause bugs.

In this case, the chance of triggering any type of bug is as close to nonexistant as it can be for a Bethesda title.

i know, its not hooked up to any globals or anything as far as i know so it should be relatively save, but like you said, its still a bethesda game, if you can complete quests without using the console than its better to not use it.

some errors in morrowind dont show their face when they are first generated, instead they pile on and corrupt saves hours and hours later.

also, i dont really see the point of using console commands instead of just doing the quests themselves. it kind of defeats the purpose of the game.
the only 2 reasons why i ever use console commands are:
1. fixing game breaking stuff which prevents me from continuing
2. testing mods

that being said, i appreciate that you are just tying to be helpful, so i thank you for that, and i gave your original comment about the journal entree a reward.
as always, have a nice day :)
