The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Solstheim
am I the only one who went to the DLC in Skyrim and was upset by the mountain and dwemer ruins and everything when just the day before I had been in the morrowind solstheim hills and draugr dens?

the geography changed, werewolves dissapeared and the dwemer showed up out of nowhere

Nope, not upset at all. Dragonborn was an excellent DLC, ranking just behind Shivering Isles in my list.

I'm not sure what you're complaining about. The mountains too high for you? Go check Bloodmoon again, those aren't hills in the north. Upset about the Dwemer instead of draugr? But you did have draugr! And the Dwemer? They just make sense to be there, because their range was to both west and east of Solstheim. This kind of whining is just childish.

Wouldn't be the first time Bethesda screwed up.

First of all im not whining, I just didnt quite like the inconsistencies since they used the same location as dlc over two games and they are almost completely different, im not saying the dwemer shouldnt be there, im just saying they werent there before, yes yes they added to it, improved it whatever, why cant I just say my bit without being compared to a child, settle down pal im not attacking your beloved dlc

Youve perceived my words more negatively than they are, you looked too much into me saying I was upset

Yeah the mountains make sense, that's what they were meant to be in Bloodmoon but the game engine wasn't as advanced as Skyrim's. The disappearance of werewolves also isn't a big thing to worry about, there are after all two centuries separating both stories. The presence of dwemer ruins is really the only thing that did bother me, as that made no sense for them to suddenly pop up. Sure, it generally speaking makes sense that they might have had an outpost on Solstheim, but the previous canon clearly showed they didn't.

atleast they kept some of the locations from the original, it was nice to have some form of familiarity with the island

the changes wouldnt matter or be known to people who didnt start playing until oblivion or skyrim, which was most people

again im being misinterpreted, I wasnt making excuses, I was just meaning bethesda might have cared more about revisiting solstheim if more of the fanbase had been there the first time

Yeah I wasnt too happy. I understand the ash in the south and the changes to raven rock or fort frostmoth and the new telavanni settlement but Thirsk was roatated 180 degrees with the door facing east. The lake by Thirsk is tiny compared to Bloodmoon. Skaal village is in a valley not on a hill unlike Bloodmoon. The Dwemer ruins dont bug me too much as they look as they were dug up recently and the tombs are more like ruins dont bug me much either but yeah the landscape isnt Morrowind Lore friendly. I noticed the same with ESO but ESO was based 1000 years before Skyrim and 800 years before Morrowind and Oblivion and I can understand it and in ESO many of the ruins are identical to whats in Skyrim and Oblivion.

thirsk is a 800 years old tavern thing, don't you think the wood rotted over time and they tried new things like placing the door somewhere else? And the sea is just water. maybe it wasn't raining the last few months^^
And for the landscape, I don't really know what changed, but maybe the eruption from red mountain did something there like it did to winterhold (if the red mountain really was the cause)
