Is it worth having enchant skill without Fortify Skill / Fortifu attribute abuse?
I'm not abusing fortify skill or fortify attribute snowballing mechanics in my playthrough. My intelligence and luck are about 60, my enchant skill about 50. It seems like I fail to create even the simpliese enchancments, like a stupid restore fatigue on cast on self. I failed dozens of attempts, not a single success.

Is it doable at all if I don't abuse skills/stats, or should I just forget about that and save money for the traders who can do it for me?

Without using Code Patch's Enchanting fix, the self enchant chances are indeed way too low to use even for a simple spells.

However, even if you do not abuse the game systems, and do not use the fix, higher enchanting skill level should still increase the amount of times you can use enchanted item without recharging it (going as far as 10 times more uses) and make it easier to manualy recharge them.
Also I think I remember but am not sure of, it also affected the enchanting by NPC process in some way, reducing the price maybe? Don't remember.

Yeah for enchanting items use NPC enchanters, the option to enchant by self is a gameplay trap.

I'm not sure if I have Code PAtch's Enchantix fix. I'm playing with overhaul mod that has some mods and fixed built in, but I didn't really check which.

Thanks for the info. It's a pity I can't fully use my major skill as planned. Will start saving money for NPC enchanters. Anyway, I have lot's of expensive stuff to sell to them to get those money back.

One thing I checked on UESP, to completely break the game balance with enchanting you would need to go as far as 4900 Int OR reach 1225 Enchanting (100% succes chance no matter what you attempt).

Which means there is a huge margin of safely going over the 100 stats. I'm pretty sure with the help of few "Quality inteligence potion"s and one or two of the in game items that give temporary enchanting boost you could actually create minor enchants without using any of the glitches.

Devs gave you official ways to go over the max values, and as long as you restrain yourself in using too many of them at the same time, it shouldn't casue a problem.

I still wouldn't do any complex enchanting without the NPC though.

Yes, thanks for the advice, but I know I can do it easily. I remember doing it when I was first playing Morrowind years ago when it was just released. It turned my game into an easy mode and I steamrolling on the hardest difficulty :)

This time after all those years I started to give more love to natural organic builds (in almost all RPG games) without any powerleveling or exploiting the system, even though developers made some obvious mistakes in balance, both good and bad for a player.

I remember the game is still quite easy after initial levels, and actually I feel I can do it without creating custom PC-made enchancements, custom permanent enchantments and 1 second buffs. So I'll just continue roleplaying, I'm pretty sure "wasted" skills I have will not be much of an obstacle anyway.
