My Character's take on Freeing Slaves
"Now, I know it sounds well and all to see those suffering souls in chains be let go to live the lives they always dreamed of, but hear me out. What do you think happens after a slave is freed from his pen? Do you think he just waltzes out freely to pursue whatever interest or ambition his heart desires? Does he get to be free after escaping? No, a slave that escapes captivity is still a slave you see, a slave on the run. The escaped slave's appearance and mannerisms would mark him out rather easily as a slave on the run, and for that reason the fear of being tracked down by bounty hunters which the slave will surely have on his back, is ever constant."

"Few may want to spend company with an escaped slave for the trouble it might bring, while others might happily rat the slave out for a good price. How is an escaped slave even to find a steady career and lifestyle while keeping their identity as a runaway under wraps? Even in so-called 'protected' areas of Imperial influence, that protection may only go so far as the slave is still a runaway slave in a province where slavery is legal. The chances of being recaptured are never zero, as the captors will find one way or another to eventually grab the slave back."

"This is not freedom, this is misery. Every waking second of a runaway's life is spent with a constant nagging fear of recapture, which can manifest to reality at any time. And when that slave is recaptured, the captors will want to know who let them escape, and the slave will likely crack and start singing. That paints a target on the back of the adventurer who initially freed that slave, as it is logical that the pro-slavery folks in Morrowind would want to see those freelance abolitionists disposed of."

"No, letting a slave escape doesn't free him, it just condemns him to a fearful life of avoiding being recaptured and puts oneself at risk of being a target by the powers in Morrowind."

"There is but one true freedom for a slave, to be freed from the misery-stricken life which they live. No honest and good-hearted person likes to hear that, I even feel filthy saying that, but it stands true all the same. If you come across a slave, and if you have the chance to free him, steel your stomach and free the slave with your sword, not a key."

So your character is unaware that powers of Morrowind include Twin Lamps, the Argonian Mission and other abolitionists that help runaway slaves escape the province and this seems to be common knowledge among slaves.

If you, being a slave, will happily put yourself on a sword, then why do you need mc for this?

If this is how you're playing your character, your family SERIOUSLY needs to take you to a therapist.
