OpenMW + Nexus, how stable?
Being having fun with Daggerfall but all quests start to feel same. Oblivion I can only play small burst because I know that game too well. And Skyrim I don´t have the patience to re-install my entire mod list, which was pretty big. Extremelly tired of TESO.

So all I´m left till 2043 when TES6 launches it´s go back to Morrowind, which is probably the one I´ve played the least by now and it´s being more than 5 years since last time. But Morrowind was always a buggie beast even with third party fixxes, I hear the current OpenMW is quite stable but I´m unsure if Nexus mod will work the same.

anyone with experience on OpenMW can testify any way?

I used the guides from OpenMW Modding website (google it), pretty much all mods listed there come from Nexus Mods. i personally did manual installs (though you can use MO2 as long as you install an extra plugin or something).

Works great for me. I even repeated the process on my steam deck and now am happily playing modded OpenMW on it.

It is less buggy than Oblivion even without fixes

OpenMW 0.47.0 has been rock solid for me out of the box. Not a single crash, even when alt-tabbing during 5+ hour sessions.

Just make sure any mods you use don't rely on code patches, as those code patches will not be compatible with OpenMW.

i've been playing with openMW with 60 mods for about a year now and it has not crashed once. i recommend using Mod organizer 2 becouse it makes installing mods very fast and easy.

From my initial approach what I read is that MGE XE (morrowind graphic extender) doesn´t work on OpenMW,and therefor neither do all mods requiering it. But at the same time I do have seen pictures of people playing OpenMW and it does look quite good, so I pressume there´s a work around or another graphic overhaul different than MGE XE.

But if we are talking code here... are you refering to the script extender? because that´s more serious, if script extender doesn´t work on OpenMW then that´s a lot more mods that wouldn´t work on it.

And please people, refrain yourself for mentioning stuff like Mod Organizer 2. I ask about OpenMW and Nexus, and Nexus mod organizaer is Vortex. Please do not start mentionind a thousand other mod installers or mod pagesbecause that´s not what I´m asking and have 0 interest in those.

Openmw has similar built in graphic features as MGE

Script Extender relies on the executable, so it 100% won't work and the devs currently don't intend to make the Script Extender specific instruction set available in OpenMW. They are instead working on implementing LUA scripting.

OpenMW incorporates a lot of what the Unofficial Patch and Morrowind Code Patch do, and is much more stable than MGE+MWSE. The gaps can be filled with OpenMW-specific mods. Most mods that don't require MGE and/or MWSE are compatible with OpenMW, and the ones that aren't will typically say so in their descriptions.

It isn't as pretty as MGE XE, but I prefer a more vanilla look with updated mesh and texture mods anyway. And it's a fair tradeoff for stability.

Sold. Stability is the reason I made the thread, if OpenMW is indeed more stable then modded regular MW then I will play that. I personally don´t even care for graphics, I like Morrowind graphic except for the fog and the viewing distance. My visual overhaul mod list in most Bethesda games is pretty low to be honest, I don´t even like Unreal Engine games, all that motion blur, ray tracing, dynamic shadows, antislashing... it´s all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and smoke and mirrors to me, 100% will always prefer style and artistic vision over "realistic graphic", as they look mostly as part of the uncanny valley.
