Way harder, way more rewarding to master. The game will not hold your hand as you progress, you will be thrust into the world and forced to survive on what you already know. Ask for help if you need it, but like I said it will be rewarding to complete quests and tasks on your own.

Morrowind is wayyyyyyyyyyyy harder than skyrim, there is alot more to think about in morrowind like alchemy and how to use your magick wisely, also the guilds are better in morrowind by MILES!, but because where you tread dude everything in this game is level fixed, so if you travels across morrowing youll likely run into a cave full of dedra worshipers and youll die xD, get this game its better than skyrim Game play wise

I must be the only one that thinks Morrowind is just as easy as all the others. Melee just steamrolls this game. Are you guys doing a no enchantments run or something?

This game will eat you up and hunt you down until you cry.

You've played Skyrim and Oblivion. If you think Oblivion is harder, than Morrowind is 1 step harder than that. Once you know the system and how it works with spells and enchantments it actually becomes easier because of the variety of options.
Of course if you need quest markers because you can't read or don't want to take your time finding out what people have to say then you would be screwed in Morrowind.
Really rather depends. I would say that it is "more frustrating" than the other games, rather than "more difficult". Typically, the early game is pretty harsh as you have to have the appropriate levels of agility and weapon skill to be able to hit your targets, but once you've reached the sweet spot, the game because pretty easy. Due to the stupid AI, I'd say even easier than the other TES games. You can also easily break the game by abusing Conjured weapons. In Morrowind, they're actual deadric weapons(end game equipment!) that boosts your combat skills. And you have access to these pretty much straight off the bat. So yeah, pretty frickin' stupid.

I would say yes and no to the question. Morrowind is absolutely harder than Skyrim when you begin. It's very, very hard and frustrating at first. The longer you play, the more you understand the system, the better your skills become, the easier the game get. Once you start mastering your skills you can become practically untouchable, able to kill most enemies with one or two hits. Add enchantments to your weapons, armor and jewelery and you become unstoppable. Learn how to wisely create spells and jump, fly, destroy and summon like a boss.

You'll get beat by the simplest insect when you start, but may become strong enough to defeat a god by the end. And this is why I love Morrowind. And that is why it is and it isn't harder than Skyrim.

You reminded me of the first time I played Morrowind. This was after playing Skyrim and Oblivion. I had no major or minor combat skills or Magic skills, making them all have 5,10, or 15. I think I was a Breton but I had no spells what so ever.
My plan was to raise these skills and stay level 1 for a long time until I had alot of money to train the major/minor skills to raise my level. Needless to say I couldn't hit anything. I had to engage a creature and then start moving back towards the town, hoping that the guards would come to my rescue before I died. My armor skills were raising but nothing else. Like I said I didn't even have a heal spell. I had to rest in bed until I was fully healed and than go to battle again. I didn't know rats were so powerful.
I didn't take long before I had to give up on this toon. It's a good and viable strategy for the other 2 TES games but not this one and It is totally unnecessery too.

It's not really harder at all. Morrowind creatures don't level with you, so it's possible at level 1 to stumble on level 30 enemies. While that can make it seem harder, you just need to avoid those places until you're a higher level. Once you have parity in levels with the monsters, you should be able to steamroll anything.

You will need to get used to a lack of fast travel and mission markers. You will also have greatly reduced walking speed. Much of the game is based on chance (chance to hit, chance to fail or succeed casting spells, chance to succeed in brewing potions, etc.). If you persevere though, the game will reward you much more than Skyrim in terms of satisfaction.

Only at first. As your speed and acrobatics increase, you'll be moving MUCH quicker than you do through skyrim.

and of course if you have any issues with the way speed, Attack, Regeneration or anything else in the game mechanics you can find a mod that will fix, eliminate, or adjust it

Where's the fun in that?!
But I will admit that I do have a magic regen mod. If magic can regen while you rest, it should be able to slowly regen normally. I think that's one change that Obl and Sky got right.
