I just managed to sort out launching the damn game. Went in with an old character and made a spell of 100 magnitude Resist Paralysis for 20 seconds, the magicka cost was 20.
Went to CS, did exactly what I said to do, and altered Base Cost to .10, ensured esp was activated.
Went back in, created same spell, this time the cost is 10 not 20. It works. It is simple. No coding required.
You can equip items while paralyzed as well. So I just have a mix of jewelry hotkeyed and throw my ring on if something paralyzes me this way I don't have to eat a corkbulb every time they paralyze me.
This would require a Constant Effect Cure Paralysation effect, no? (Given that you cannot cast anything while paralysed?) Resist Paralysis won’t cure Paralysis if it is already active.
https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Cure_Paralyzation#:~:text=Does%20pretty%20much%20what%20you,while%20you%20yourself%20are%20paralyzed.
If a Constant Effect Cure Paralysation item is capable of this, then I guess that’s better than a corkbulb root. It has quite a high base cost however (100 base cost, which is 5x higher than Invisibility), so you may struggle to even find an item that can fit that sort of Enchantment on it.
But, no....the CE resist Paralysis will fit on a Exquisite Ring, with 20 points to spare.
It would cost just over 80,000 at an enchanters to buy, depending on mercantile and speechcraft. (good job I removed that esp, it first fitted on an extravagant ring. lol)
If you need to know exactly how much int and enchant skill required (it would take a few fortify spells to enchant yourself), I have a spreadsheet found from the uesp from an enchant wizard, which can tell you exactly what is needed to get a 100% success chance.
This is assuming that they fix the Base Cost issue , yes.
The point I was trying to make is that if the issue ‘isn’t’ fixed, then Corkbulb Root is an option. It additionally comes with the added bonus of not having to worry about an Enchant slot, but then that’s at the expense of carrying roots around obviously.
If the issue ‘is’ fixable and the OP would rather stick with a CE Resist Paralysis ring them sure, that’s also an option. But this also won’t help they happen to get to become paralysed ‘without’ having the ring on initially, as it does not retroactively ‘remove’ Paralysis; it just ‘protects’ the wearer from it to begin with.
I was able to remove the part of the plugin that was causing the issues and so far it hasn't bricked my file.
Equipping it wont remove the current paralysis but the main issue with paralysis is that an enemy is usually applying it with a jinkblade, or another consistent source. It's mostly just about reacting to the potential stunlock. If they were going to be able to kill me during the paralysis, they would have killed me anyways.
So it’s been fixed. Good to hear!
If you’re using the ring to play ‘the reaction game’, then it might still be worth carrying around a couple of Corkbulb Roots in the event that you lose said game. That way, you’d only have to consume 1 root mid-fight in conjunction with equipping the ring, and effectively be 100% protected from Paralysis without having to permanently wear a niche CE item.
