Later help with carrying more?
I'm finding the limitations on what I can carry almost an issue. Is there something later on in the game that lets you carry more? I'm playing openMW, I think there might be two mods for Oldwind that help with this but haven't found one for openMW.

you don't need mods just buff you attributes.

Just up your strength attribute or get an enchanted item or make a fortify spell or use potions of feather better use potions of fortify strength.
Get better inventory management and stop carrying junk everywhere.
Use Mark, recall and Intervention spells.
Looting dungeon, use a spell, potion or enchanted item to fortify strength and recall to a mark outside of a merchants or Mark the dungeon and use intervention spell/scroll/enchanted item to get somewhere to sell junk and then Recall back.
Plenty of ways to do it.

best thing to do is just use a mod to increase the base carry weight setting
its 5, but you can make it 10 20 100 or whatever
i make it 10.

Honestly the issue comes down to picking up everything imo. In morrowind, many things are expensive and relatively light for their costs - potions, ingredients, scrolls, higher tier weapons and armor etc. Pick those up and ignore stuff like iron or other low tier equipment and kitchen ware :' )

Hoarding is a disorder and you must fight it, not encourage it. Learn to organize your loot

Good advice. By temperament I'm a packrat, but in Morrowind all that cheap stuff serves a purpose as your standing with Merchants is based on number of Sales to the Merchant, sort of backward thinking. So I show up with a new Merchant and sell a pile of petty stuff one
piece at a time and get my rating with the Merchant up to 100/100

Prowling the net I found that you can go into the CS and adjust the variable fEmcumerment directly without elevating the Strength value, which also affects how hard your melee weapons hit. However, none of the instructions on how to do it were simple enough for me and the variable they modify was impossible to find. So I just tweeked the Strength value. The carry weight is kind of wonky, too much for just one person but not enough assuming you had a mule or two. The very nice Ashlander Tent is 150 pound, so I had to do something.

A 150 pound Ashlander tent?

Anyways, some options.
- 100 Strength is 500 encumbrance. Push that higher with Fortify Strength.
- Use Mark and Recall, find somewhere to dump things.
- Stop hoarding.
- Get addicted to Sujamma.
- Constant effect Feather enchantment. Always nice and better than fortify strength.
- Combination of Feather and Fortify Strength.

CE enchantments require 400+ strength souls in a grand soul gem / Azura's Star though. Golden saints and Ascended Sleepers are the best options for that.
