You will be able to see a long way though, if your pc can handle it.
Follow the instructions for installing it and setting it up.
But under Distant land, tick to say use Distant land, start about Draw Distant 3.0 and make sure "Auto set other distances" is ticked and "by Above Water Fog" is ticked.
Also do not have Exponential fog turned on.
I've checked all the Morrowind.ini options and all the windows registry options for the Morrowind. There is none with name or value which I would interpret as a candidate for futher checking.
But of course I could be terribly wrong.
if you're mainly looking for increased view distance, and not really the array of shaders that MGE comes with, you can try OpenMW. It has a much easier distant land feature, and it supports any mod that doesnt use MWSE (with a few exceptions). I found OpenMW much more enjoyable simply for it's enhanced movement animations. Makes 3rd person -actually- playable.
Just a heads up - OpenMW has included a lot of fixes from MCP and would like to include more, there are other MCP options in OpenMW, to be able to use you have to alter the ini.
In other words you have no real choice with OpenM.
So heads up, if pointing something out, give all the relevant facts.
p.s. I have used OpenMW myself, now I use MGE XE, maybe I will go back To OpenMW sometime. It is called keeping an open mind.
