Anyone play as an Argonian?
Anyone played through or enjoys playing as an Argonian?
What type of classes do you choose and why? etc
How do you gameplay it?

Why I am asking is that after 20 years of playing this game up until last month there were still 3 races I had never played (I have even played as a self made Daedra years ago), Khajiit, Imperial and Argonian I had not played.

Have now a Khajiit Hand to Hand specialist and mage. Quite OP'ed.
I am putting together 6 or 7 builds and playing upto and including the Moon and Star quest, before I decide which one I will use to try to do a completionist (to me just means uncovering every part of the world and doing every dungeon, cave, shrine etc I come across)

The first time I ever played this game I played as Argonian, after years of playing, I can't remember at all. I just remember it being mind blowing and fun.

I'm at a point where I just random everything on char creation. ended up with an Argonian Knight with the Lord sign (tip: unless you want a challenge, don't pick the Lord...). Worked just fine. This game is not hard and even easier if you use some of the many exploits in it.

The Argonian power is very circumstantial and easily replaced with gear or spells. His resists never came into play. He has a nice Athletic boosts and a bonus to Speed (for male). This does not make up for the loss of the Boots of Blinding Speed, but it's something I suppose, and decent in the early game. The Agi bonus was nice for a fighter.

Apart from that, he gets minor bonus to notably Spear (the only other race that has this is the Nord), Alchemy, and a bunch of good Mage skills. It's a pretty versatile and not super spectacular class. Spear and the Agi bonus is nice for a fighter (note: you can't wear certain helms on beast races). His minor spell boosts and bonus to Intel (female) could make a decent base for a mage, and if you go Unarmored you don't care about the loss of boots or helms.

I was leaning towards "pushing the boat out" and trying unarmoured mage, means very little to enchant. Get a little fed up being so OP'ed by level 12.
Also thinking a great role playing chance to play with a different mind set, coming from a "slave" class. Might even throw in Morag Tong late after doing a lot of House Telvanni. (keep friends close, enemies even closer). Plus I get to kill that mad "♥♥♥♥♥" in House Telvanni.

I would not bother with helm and not bothered by boots, especially boots of blinding speed.
Alchemy as always given me a lot of Fortify Speed potions.
Plus a glitch in game lets Argonians move faster when spear is drawn and when I get a little into Restoration a great utility spell is Fortify Strength 20 to 50 for 30 seconds, not only does it let you move faster, but adds strength modifier to melee weapons and is great for looting/ clearing entire dungeons/ caves/ shrines.
At moment playing Breton Mysticism mage and have 3 "shopping bag spells", with not much pure strength can still top out 1100 encumbrance now i am high enough in restoration.

Unarmored is pretty legit. The low encumbrance means you can run faster and jump further. Since Mages can boost those things quite spectacularly, it'll end up being pretty awesome.

My other char is an Unarmored Altmer Acrobat drunken brawler (literally drunk: pop Sujamma before a fight and mug people). He went heavy on Alteration. Currently at around level 75 in Alteration and I can jump further away than the Scroll of Icarus Flight (+200 jump). I know I can stack this further :) Hand to Hand means I'm not weighted down by weapons either (and H2H is broken).

It's hard to level Unarmored, but Caius can train you up to level 70 and that's a very good option early in the game. A Devil Cephalopod Helm with Bound Cuirass will also greatly help boost your armor value all the way to late game. It's a Light Armor, but gives like a +60 bonus to your armor rating. In the early game, nothing can top that.

Have a Khajiit H2H (fastest levelling skill there is). Still need other way to kill them off as H2H takes too long . Mysticisms has Absorb Health (OP'ed, I still use basic spell at level 20 on Daedra) is perfect for low health mages.
If you like playing H2H then have a go sometime as Mysticism as a Major and when high enough make an Absorb Health + Absorb Fatigue overtime spell.
I always pay for the one or 2 skills that are difficult/ slow to raise, if I use them. Knowing most of the Master Trainers after all these years makes it a little too easy.
Bound armour is great till you start picking up the ingame gear, but if using Conjuration by that point I usually put all the other items (including weapon) on one 90 second or longer spell.

But definitely going to try the unarmoured, hardly any gear to enchant and go for a Argonian Spear Mage. Might be a nice challenge.

p.s.
On the Breton I am just playing I swapped out the Saviours Hide for a Daedric Cuirass and enchanted with Constant Conjured Spear + Fortify Spear 2 to 15.
Now I am ready for Mournhold.

Thanks for the tip :) Yeah H2H is great to send people to the mat, but then it takes ages to finish. I thought of dabbling in Damage Fatigue or Absorb Fatigue but I haven't got the skills yet. Maybe after I've maxed Alteration.

Argonian Spear Mage sounds really cool, go for it!

My profile pic is Khajiit my favorite race because i like cats irl. It seems that beast races are pretty popular too they are more the majority on MP.

Do you think they are popular because they can be harder to play and there is a certain amount of better role playing with them?
Or is everyone just a furry?
I actually have 2 loopy cats, I used to have 4 plus dobermans when I lived in England.

I liked playing an Argonian warrior type from a roleplaying perspective. I'd free slaves wherever I found them and after completing the main quest I slaughtered the Telvanni for being slavers. He looked cool in Adamantium armor.

The greatest race in franchise history and it's not even close.

I actually am going to join House Telvanni with my Argonian, I like the Telvanni, well there are 2 I like to wipe out, total lunatics.
Maybe even join/ do the "lamps" quest and free all my buddies.
Have you not always noticed that most slavers in dungeons etc are Dunmer or Nord.

Have already done Balmora Mage (Ajira) and Fighter guild quests. This build moves damn fast, who needs "boots of blinding speed"?

Although if you look through the lore of Morrowind at a much later date the Argonians invade and defeat the Telvanni.
Cy Jun 13, 2021 @ 2:35am
since argonians cant wear boots or a closed helmet I would go for one of the following 3:
1. assassin / thief
2. mage
3. combination of 2 and 3

that argonian would not be interested to become the nerevar / nerevarine at all and it would surely like telvanni the least while it would stay out of any of the business from the 3 greathouses anyway. I dont know how much argonians care for their own kind so I cant tell you how it would make scence to interact with other argonians.

You just created an infinite loop :)

I guess you could RP an Argonian that has turned to the dark side and is working for the Telvanni. Aren't there some in the game? I know Orcs work for them and they consider them a lesser race.
