The facet of Morrowind that always stood out to me was maneuverability. There's such a range between 'the least mobile character' and 'the most mobile character', and being extremely mobile can make up for a lot of other character flaws.
Limit testing this idea: I made a 'non-Boots-of-Blinding-Speed' character (because that's the 'cheap' way of becoming maneuverable), that was designed to operate carrying 0lbs of weight, which is possible due to the Redas Robe of Deeds (Constant effect Feather 50lbs). In essence, it used a few key pieces of armour for protection (e.g. Ebony Mail), and primarily uses Athletics/Spear (often a Bound Spear because it’s weightless) to poke enemies from outside of most opponents' melee ranges. It can also jump over one storey buildings without any jump/acrobatics enhancement and not carrying any loot because, you know, 0lbs encumberance and stuff.
All in all, super fun. Maneuverability is addictive.

Summary:
Male Argonian, Strength/Endurance, Atronach, Combat Spec.
Major: Athletics (starts at 50), Spear, Medium Armour, Sneak, Short Blade.
Minor: Mysticism, Restoration, Acrobatics, Security, Enchant.
In hindsight, Blunt Weapon is probably a better Minor than Enchant, as Enchant skill is nigh impossible to increase without Training (and so prob would've been better left as Miscellaneous). Whereas Blunt Weapon is fairly easy to increase without training (grab a Chitin Club and start pulverising Mudcrabs and Rats with it), and is arguably the most versatile weapon skill in Morrowind. It has both one-handed + two handed weapons, either quick or slow swinging, Ebony Staves for Enchanters, Sunder for hard hitting, the list goes on, Not to mention that a whopping 4 factions have it as one of their preferred skills (Fighters Guild, Tribunal temple, Imperial Legion, Imperial Cult).
But other than that, favourite build is a speedy Lizard boi.
Khajiit / Atronach / Stealth
Major: Unarmored, Hand-to-Hand, Blunt, Resto, Sneak
Minor: Security, Acrobatics, Athletics, Alchemy, Mysticism
The point of this build is versatility and mobility, and relying on as little gear as possible. You can't afford to get hit much so staying light is key, and sapping enemy health to keep up your own. Typically I knock them out with hand-to-hand and then bop them with a staff to finish the job. Atronach gives a nice magicka pool to draw on for healing while alchemy lets you make the potions necessary to keep that reserve filled. Even if an enemy is quite strong, I can just knock them down and chip away at their health. Being unarmored poses some risk but nothing that can't be offset with the right spell.
This is the same person that posted "it is so difficult not to abuse this game".
Then I remembered answering there earlier posts giving builds and ideas (i.e Breton + Atronach) and helping them out when they got into problems.
They have used everything off the forum and internet to ruin there own game and then complain about it.
nice catch dude.
ya this guy is a high effort troll
they should make you a mod in this forum, can just lock those before they get out of control. you'd save me a ton of work talkin to them too lol.
That other post was kind of dramatic but this one doesn't strike me as harmful. Just asking people to describe their builds. What could go wrong?
It’s more the fact that they prefaced their other post with:
And then upon searching older posts on the forum, by complete accident, I stumbled upon this post made by this same user, 4 months ago. Which then jogged the memory of another user, who apparently helped them with gameplay advice, also several months ago.
Is the OP an idiot? Or are they a Big-Brain troll? I guess we’ll never know.
I like to think that, in the spirit of the ambiguity that punctuates ‘Morrowind Lore’, that it’s both simultaneously, and/or depends on your perspective of events.
I do not see an over exaggerated effort to troll ppl unless i am missing something?
I do not see the correlation at all between both threads and trying to troll. Unless they are very subtle with it.
Thread 1, March 2021 (ie this one, which was obviously genuine):
“What’s your favourite build? Here’s mine, that I obviously played, because I talk about my process of making equipment and going through quests”.

Thread 2, July 2021 (which is ‘genuine’?):
“So I’m on my ‘First Playthrough’ and I’m finding it difficult to not break the game. I’m a Breton Atronach and things are silly, because I’m going through a laundry list of things that are nigh impossible to figure out unless you’ve studied the game or played it before.”
…
Maybe there was a Dragon Break?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Please follow the chronological order of how things occurred and maybe also check there profile and old threads.
It took me a little while for my brain to click and realised what I and others had said in the first posts and it was the same person - unfortunately at the start accessing my own memories was blocked by, " the administrator has locked these files".
But, no harm, just sometimes makes me not want to help anyone, which "might" be a shame as I love everything about this game and it is definitely not nostalgia that makes me thin that way.
They also hint towards their English is not very good so it could all be down to translation. They also said that they used to play it on Xbox back in the day so in all reality if we wanted to be critical then first playthrough is a falsity. But also when they are saying playthrough they are probably talking in an endgoal sense meaning this is the playthrough they are going to finish. Because they have never finished the game.
I did look at their post history before i even commented in here. They are asking about favorite build. Best build and then Breton rant.
Just because they are talking about their favorite build in march and linking a morrowind character creation build template does not mean anything. Its just a build that they like they never said anywhere in that thread that they even played with it. It could all just be on paper for all we know or play testing without out actually playing the game.
They could of simply spent some time in the game trying different combos before they decide what class and race they want to go with hence seeing as Breton Attro seems to be their most recent and "first playthrough"
They say in Feb that they never completed the game back on xbox so they want to finally clock the game.
And i guess in this sense when they say "first playthrough" Then this is the setup they are doing their first playthrough with.
Idk it does seem strange though that they keep hinting to certain things over various threads.
Other build types are Dark Elf Mage Birth Sign and Custom Build to compliment the standard dark elf attributes (cant recall exactly).
Finally I like to make an Imperial and custom class merchant then exploit the barter system and train to the max but I can do it as a role play pretending that the Imperial is a con man. I like to utilise the merchantile, speechcraft abilities and pretend he has some skills in security, alchemy and enchanting as well as destruction, short blade, athletics, acrobatics and sneak. This means only Endurance isnt a major or minor skill governing attribute but should be easy to train up enough between each level on the cheap. For this class I use the Mage birthsign so I have more magicka for late game things and I make Intelligence and Personality the Major attributes of the class. I don't mind mixing the skills for the final minor skill depending on what I feel will work on the day I attempt the play through. But I do try and find something to complement the build depending on how I want to play.
