The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Is there a way to improve the movement speed?
I've been trying to play this off and on, but I cannot get past the movement. It's so damn slow!

I've tried setting my Speed stat to 80 or so, but the difference feels minimal.

Also, how does one find quests? Do I really have to follow these little rumors? That's gonna get tiring really fast.

I'm gonna say this, playing Morrowind feels worse than playing daggerfall.

Special boots make travel faster. I suppose one could say they make you move blindingly fast. *wink wink*
I just downloaded the Code Patch and removed skills caps then set my speed to 100.

You could try giving this mod a shot, it makes movement/encumberance work more like Oblivion if that's more your taste.

Thanks, but I managed to handle my issue. Now my movespeed is tolerable.

if you look up morrowind oblivionized there's a few mods to make the gameplay slightly more modern, I used those mods for my first few playthroughs

there's some that make running not drain stamina (but while running it recovers slower like in oblivion)
and mods that make magicka regen over time

also if you're an absolute mad lad there's one that makes every attack hit (effects both you and enemies, I wouldn't reccomend it though because it basically breaks the game)

and if you aren't using it, a really good mod to use is OpenMW, it's an overhaul of the whole engine and gives you better control over graphic settings and allows easy access to modern screen resolutions and lets you save mod lists for different setups

athletics makes you run faster...
acrobatics make you jump higher...

i trained my athletics to around 70 and the game felt much faster, then i enchanted some pants with jump 50 for 2 secs and travelling became a bliss ever since

Not just speed matters. How encumbered you are slows you down too. So you have 75% of your max weight in items you'll move significantly slower than if you had 0% encumbrance..
Having more strength speeds you up if you carry a lot of items. Otherwise keep your encumbrance low.

Also the athletics skill speeds you up too.

With a decent athletics, speed and a low encumbrance load, you should be lightning fast

I'm aware, and for the record I think the encumbrance thing is a pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I like carrying my loot without being punished for it.

They should have just gave us a Cart like in Daggerfall.
