Report a translation problem
I just have a few mods in regards to Stalker armor, Roberts' better bodies, extra races ( khajiiti subspecies, pharlans, ect.) And a quest mod or two-
It happened once or twice, I believe? The game has been such a pain I hadn't touched it unless it's for tinkering/hopeful fixing so it hasn't happened recently since my original couple hours of play.
Take your mod downloads and unzip them manually into a separate section so that the folder order mimics the game ["Data Files" then all the other sub folders].
Once you are happy that the mods all follow the default folder paths and your mods have not conflicted with each other [since you will have checked the read me files for known conflicts] drag and drop your new "Data files" folder into the Morrowind "Data files" folder and it will overwrite existing modified files you have and merge the new data into the game files.
The game should then work if there are no mod conflicts as presumably your vanilla was working before mods were added.
I'll see what I can do with the information given, and update you on what inevitably works!
So I have been having this same problem, and I just found the fix it was easy. Open the file location for the game, for me I right clicked the game in steam and went to manage and opened file location. Right click on the Morrowind launcher and go to properties, then go to the compatibility tab and uncheck the box for running in compatibility mode, and check ONLY the box for running as administrator. DO THIS AGAIN FOR THE APPLICATION "MORROWIND" as well exactly. My settings save and I don't have to change them again after each crash, or when i just have to load up the game. ( both Morrowind and Morrowind launcher need to be setup this way for me otherwise it wont save options/settings. They are both in the file explorer you opened initially, for me they are the only ones that had the Morrowind logo beside them.) Also, to note, i run the game vanilla, with no mods.
My crash issues are normally when trying to alt + tab, other than that its perfect. Tip for alt + tabbing, press escape to pause, then Shift + Tab for team overlay. then Alt + Tab, I get significantly less crashes doing this, another fix for crashes was when i did the resolution fix which is easy to find on YouTube.
Really hope this helps if you are currently having this problem still.. :)
[General]
Background Keyboard=1
Default is 0, that's why the game crashes every time while alt-tabbing.
It is also not a bad idea to switch off steam overlay, coz there is no use for it anyway - there are no achievments in the game.
