"Spear" just for +5 End (Mage) Should it be a minor skill?
I'm creating a customized Spellsword with only Light Armor and Short Blade (for Wayn's fancy sword) I intend to use "Spear" skill solely to get the +5 to Endurance. Given that, should I make "Spear" a minor skill or not and please justify your answer in light of UESP's Morrowind Leveling advice.

No don't make it a minor skill, leave it as a misc skill. Cus every level up of a major or minor contributes to the 10 skills needed to level up, meaning if it was a minor and you paid for training before sleeping for 10 spear increases to get that +5, those would contribute to your next level up , but without the bonuses.

So say for example if you had a level up and needed to rest, if it's a misc skill you can easily train it 10 times before you sleep, to get an easy +5, and that's that. But if it was a major or minor and you paid for that same training, you would actually get two level ups, and your second level up would have absolutely no plus modifiers to any attribute.

Exactly what was posted.
I nearly always leave spear in the misc pile to level up endurance, but also I know it is going to be my "major" weapon later game as a Daedric spear enchanted is a very nice weapon to use. Especially against pesky cliff racers.

Just an additional reason to leave spear in Misc, you want your majors/minors usually to be an easily/controllable trainable so you don't accidentally mis-level and so you can do so quickly once you're ready. Spear has like 2 trainers total in the game, and the only one that can train you more than a few levels is the master trainer at Ghostgate which is doable but just really, really inconvenient.
