Main Quest glitch (spoilers)

Hey, I have a weird main quest problem that I think is a glitch, wondered if anybody else has had this or has a solution...

I am up to the fourth & fifth tasks to become Nerevarine/Hortator for all the tribes/houses in Vvardenfell, and went to the Zainab camp to get my status there, talked to Kaushad and he told me to kill the vampire Calvario in Nerano Ancestral Tomb yadda-yadda-yadda. I did exactly that but my journal didn't update when I killed the vampire and now I can't progress with the main quest because Kaushad doesn't believe I killed him! I don't know what to do T.T

Anyone had this before, or is there a patch or a cheat which will enable me to skip over this bit?

I've consulted my bible https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Zainab_Nerevarine
and there doesn't seem to be any known bugs specifically around this.

Personally, I'd either load a save or make a physical save now.
Then I'd open console and enter:

Journal, B3_ZainabBride 20

This should set the quest to the point where he asks you his further favour.

This comes with a health warning. I don't use console commands in Morrowind and I'm not familiar with the knock on effects which can come to light some way down the quest.

In other games, something like this is fairly harmless, but there are no guarantees. So keep a save from now, just in case.
