Thanks guys
I did the same thing in the Balmora Council Club after I cleared it out. Put all my alchemy stuff in three crates in the back room. Played the game almost clean through with no trouble and one day ...... everything gone. Oh how I spat my dummy out :D
Edit: Just noticed on another thread that Balmora Mages Guild is safe storage as long as you're a member. Maybe that applies to the crates outside too.
I have been playing this game forever; and never noticed.
How about House Chests? I prefer putting all my things into Chests, in houses. Do those also reset over time? Yikes! If so.
Old stuff are removed from the chest, and new potions are added.
There also a rare bug when items are despawn (same for Skyrim, bzw). The most safe place to hold items are permanent corps like Ralen Hlaalo. As a quest item this corpse never disappear or reset.
OpenMW have no this bug, I believe. So it safe to put items on the ground and in crates (that are not reset)
