The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The text size is too small
I cannot read the small text in game. Have tried changing resolution but that just brings game up in smaller window. Have read that changing font in the ini file to big will solve it. However I cannot find the ini file for this program on my hard disk. Not sure if this is because I bought this from Steam . Does anyone have a sollution? I'm not that technical and have never used mods

Thank you Conkwer for explaining that so well. I've now registered with nexus mods after realising they have a free basic membership (thought there was a charge but that is for premium) After downloading mge.xe I changed the ui scaling to 9 and disabled the steam overlay thing. Now the font is huge lol so gonna change it down to about t5.

I tried the above with MCP fix and BDF, but it didn't increase font size for me:
Display -> Renderer -> Menu UI scaling (in MGEXEgui.exe).
for better results you need to install MCP (it have "UI display quality fix" which is important) and "Better Dialogue Font".

I then went into the .ini file, made a couple edits and now I can read everything easily; I got the idea from: https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=649814
[Fonts]
;Font 0=magic_cards_regular (original setting)
Font 0=century_gothic_big
;Font 1=century_gothic_font_regular (original setting)
Font 1=century_gothic_big
Font 2=daedric_font

Still small but MUCH better; still! Thanks.

you say it still to small so I figured I´d just mention I use openMW , and using that u can increase the size of all UI elements including text easily.
If you not happy as you have it now give that a shot.
It was very easy to setup as well.

Smaller resolution. If the game is in a smaller window, simply press alt enter like you would every other application in windows existence to get it to go full screen

Sorry, I should have given more details. I'll have to tell my wife though, someone wanted more details from me! ;)

Go to: Steam client > Library tab: Right click on The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Hover the mouse over: Manage
Select: Browse local files
The path may vary: <DirectoryChoiceDuringInstall>\steamapps\common\Morrowind
File of choice: Morrowind.ini
Make a bakup copy of file.
Edit file with a text editor.
The " ; " prefix will comment out the line (not execute it).
Save and close file.

Edits: Replaced original lines with new lines:
[Fonts]
;Font 0=magic_cards_regular (original setting)
Font 0=century_gothic_big
;Font 1=century_gothic_font_regular (original setting)
Font 1=century_gothic_big
Font 2=daedric_font

The font is a bit plain, but large. I can read on the TV from across the room without my glasses now. The fixes listed by Conkwer made everything less blurry, but for some reason MGE XE wouldn't scale the text size. If I remember right, the MCP fix may need to be selected manually.

I know this is an old post but I tried this and it worked until I tried to open my journal and I got an error saying "the text is too big for your book" and my journal was extremely small, strange,
Open MW launcher -> Advanced -> Interface:
GUI Scaling factor: 1.5
Font size: 18

Worked well for me at 1440p.

thanks for the reply but I'm playing vanilla on steam and already a good bit into the game so don't want to lose progress.
