The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Best Azura shrine in the Elder Scrolls?
I've been looking at which game in the series has the best shrine to Azura... Personally, I still think the one in Morrowind had the most magical sense of presence, with Skyrim a close second. Not sure why they messed it up in Oblivion?? Oh well, makes the other two more magestic I suppose. Check out the side by side comparison. Gimme a shout if you're down with the cult of Azura, haha

The shrine of Azura in Morrowind is by far the most astounding, as is many other places unique to that game.

In Oblivion, all content in the open world had to be made as simple as possible to avoid engine glitches, Daedric shrines are no exception, some of the quests are still fun tho.

Skyrim has the best graphics, but really, it is just a statue on top of a mountain. But Meridias quest is by far the most iconic on Skyrim.

You're right, morrowind was the coolest and Skyrim is a very close second. Oblivions sucked cus it was kind of shoehorned to into the main quest for casuals

Glad I'm not the only one who prefers the one in Morrowind! Never forget the impact of finding it / seeing it for the first time :)

Agree all around. Shame about Oblivion.. Consequence of them making it more 'console friendly'

Eh, I disagree. Here's what I posted in the same thread posted over in the Skyrim forums.

"I don't find the location of her shrine in Oblivion to be all that underwhelming compared to her shrines in Skyrim and Morrowind. In fact, I think it's the best placed when you consider that she's the Queen of Dawn and Dusk. The fact that her Oblivion shrine sits right next to a large pile of rock means that at sunrise, her worshipers will see her shrine outlined against the sky, and that same location means that it also sees the full rays of sunset. The fact that she's also one of the few Daedric Princes who comes close to good, and the fact that she actually cares about her worshipers, means that she wants them to be able to visit her shrine without risking their lives to do so. Her Oblivion shrine is the only one where they can do that."

Yeah, it IS shoehorned in, but Bethesda didn't just plop it down anywhere like a lot of other game studios would have done. Its location makes me feel like whoever was responsible for choosing its location took a look at the map and chose a location that coincided with Azura's schtick and the way she's portrayed.
