Worth Enchanting Ebony Armor?
Powerleveling alchemy to further powerlevel enchant, basically trying to create some perfect armor for my tank build. Going to be going for Sanctuary, Shield, and Magicka Resist, mainly. However, Ebony armor seems to be significantly easier to get than Daedric, but with lesser armor. At a certain point, though, does the flat armor really matter? Shield enhances armor based on what you have, but if I get the magnitude high enough, would it truly make a difference? Or would I later regret not getting Daedric armor instead?

In this case, what matters more is whether the weight type of the armor you're wearing corresponds to the weight type of the armor you're trained to wear. If you have a high Light Armor skill, then Light Armor is what you want to wear. The same goes for Medium Armor and Heavy Armor. Ebony Armor and Daedric Armor have the highest stats for heavy armor, but if your Heavy Armor skill is low, then those two armors are essentially gonna be worthless. Get the armor that works best with your skills.

If you're dead-set on going with Heavy Armor, then forget about Ebony armor and Daedric armor. There are two different Heavy armor cuirasses that are better than either of those; the Lord's Mail and the Dragonbone Cuirass. The Dragonbone Cuirass might be your best best for this. It's in Mudan Grotto, which is somewhere SW of Ebonheart. Hope your character's good at swimming.

Heh, funnily enough, I already have the chestpiece. The problem with the dragonbone cuirass is that (I think) it already has a set enchantment, so I can't customize it further. On one hand, the Dragonbone does technically have more Armor than Ebony, but the shield effect I can put on ebony armor will ultimately increase the Armor by much more than Dragonbone.

ok ebony is fine Daedric is better IMO never use items that are atifacts except for the necromancer amulet as usually with a high enchanting skill and high intelligence you can make much better constant effect items yourself
