The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Mod Recomendations?
Just got the game on steam, I have hundreds of hours in it on the xbox version, any good mods I should get? I dont care about graphics mods as my video card isnt great but I would love new creatures, areas, quest, weapons, armors, races, and companions/followers. so pretty much anything besides graphics and I dont care if they dont follow the lore :)

A small selection with some of the Morrowind mods wich add more content in different contexts, they are some of the most popular also. All of them are lore-friendly and mostly vanilla-like:

-Tamriel Rebuilt: http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/

The oldest, biggest and most vanilla-like Morrowind mod. Full Morrowind province, with all the continental part, 3 times biggest than vanilla, tons of npcs, quests, dungeons, enemies, etc. There is still in active development, but the already playable content is enormous.

An example of new content, the already working quests and factions (I think there are some tens more):

http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Tes3Mod:Tamriel_Rebuilt/Quests

-Less Generic NPCs: http://lgnpc.org/home

Add unique dialogue to all friendly npcs in every topic, and includes hundreds of new quests.

Lgnpcs is specially complete in Western half of Morrowind (7 major settlements finished, most in this region, with the exception of Balmora, Caldera and Gnisis) and for House Redoran players (the combination of Pax Redoran + all 4 Redoran settlements npcs/quests add hundreds of hours mostly for this House members).

-Rise of the House Telvanni: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/27545

A great mod for House Telvanni members, adding a lot of quests and dialogue.

-The undead: https://old.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43030/?

Tens of new undead creatures in Tombs and other dungeons.

-Julan the ashlander companion: http://lovkullen.net/Emma/Kateri.htm

Probably the most complete companion mod for Morrowind. Adds thousands of lines of dialogue for Julan and many actions. It’s designed to do main quest or tribunal quests with a companion, as Julan reactions (jokes, critics, tips, etc) are many more in these cases. There are an optional female ashlander companion, after certain quest, she and Julan are both even romanceable.

among others.

Only these few mods add hundreds of hours to the game, but check by yourself the thousands of mods in Nexus Mods and Morrowind Modding History sites to discover other mods depending of your preferences (difficulty, new actions, basic needs, more factions, etc).

A word of warning though: TR is work in progress, heavily. Which wouldn't be so problematic, if TR bugs only happen in TR, but the newer iterations start to mess with vanilla content. I.e, in the last version, you couldn't get rid of bounties anymore. I reported the bug and it was fixed. Or not. One hotfix later it was fixed again, for real this time. And you couldn't advance in the fighter guild any more. Which was fixed in the 1st hotfix, and worked.

So be prepared for some nasty surprises, esp. with new releases.

Yeah Tamriel Rebuilt is WIP, only northeastern part of the mainland Morrowind has quests npcs with dialogue, dungeons etc, and even there, we can discover some bugs, and many half-finished things, I'm sure that developers will revise greatly even this part, but there is already so much content to explore righ now only in this north-eastern corner, that I think definitively worth play it, specially in the case of old players or even more with xbox ones, as the OP. I enjoyed very much everytime that I installed, even the simple exploration without order or specific path.

Some content-mods more:

I've found this mod to be very useful for NPCs blocking doorways. It's also good for NPC escort missions. Some NPCs are really stupid when you want them to follow you on a narrow ledge! (See "The Shrine of the Dead" Urvel Dulni)

A Bard's Life 2: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44359/?
Choose which type of bard you want to be, equip an instrument and use magical spellsongs that you can learn from other bards, find books for in dungeons, or be skilled enough to compose yourself.
Complements existing characters, even non-bards that want to dabble, but also adds prebuilts that favor the types of bards.
Also, adds a companion to the game, located in one of the tombs near Seyda Neen (bring a full helmet with you)
Incorporates Bethesda's Entertainers mod into this one as well.
