It’s called the journal and mini map.

But seriously, I don’t think one has ever been made. There’s some decent maps out there by the looks of it though.

The main reason why modders didn't create a map markers mod is not, I think, because is difficult or impossible to do by vanilla Morrowind limitations asEgoMaster said in that discussion linked by The Flying Rodent. With external programs everything is possible, for example the best mod to improve distant view is a Morrowind one, not Oblivion's or Skyrim's, thanks to an external program made by a good modder.

But the main reason why we don't have a "quest marker mod" is because Morrowind don't needs one at all and because one of the best Morrowind features is precisely the exploring. Morrowind exploring is so good once you understood it, more challenging or complex, but also more reallistic, enjoyable and rewarding that any other video game exploration thanks to many factors: the uniqueness and extreme diversity in loot, enemies or interiors, the landscape design, the utility of flying or hiper jumping or underwater breathing, in many locations, the diversity of interactive fast travel services with actual worldbuilding and SPECIALLY the directions system, that provides the player some indications to follow to arrive to your destination.

As no other game provides real directions as in our world, near everyone get lost searching for some destination (including myself the first time that I played many quests), because we are expecting and easy, non-reallistic "gamey" way to find our destination as in most other games or at least artificially simple landscape in which we simply need to walk in one direction to see easily all locations, as in the typical "corridor" games or in bad open worlds-.

I'm pretty sure, the scripting engine doesn't allow addition of Hud elements. So the only way is code hacking, which requires alot of skill, patience and time.
And as explained by Edubba, it's not the most wanted feature, so chances are slim.

Just use UESP or the Wiki if you can't find a quest location or object from description alone (and have spent at least a few minutes actually searching for the stuff)
