If you're gonna get a save file, that's the same as just using the console to level yourself up.
And it's not the same for me, I wanted character with soul, not mechanical abomination from console.
The problem with what you want is that for you, any save you got from someone else WOULD be a mechanical abomination, because it wouldn't actually be YOUR character. It would be someone else's character. The character wouldn't be built according to what you wanted, it would be built based on what someone else wanted, and if the decisions of how they did that weren't what you wanted, it would be too late to do anything. What if the person had their character join House Telvanni, but you wanted House Redoran? Too bad; you'd be stuck.
There's also an aspect of discovery that you would miss. Since you haven't played the game in about 15 years, it's very likely that you forgot much of the stuff in the game. In such circumstances, I feel that just downloading someone else's save robs you of the "Hey, I remember that!" thrill. Personally, I feel that much of the fun of playing games you used to love but haven't played in a long time comes from the thrill of re-discovery.
